Evidently people find Miley Cyrus's performance at the VMAs more interesting than the serious issue that is the use of chemical weapons. The potential threat of war. . .more war, more debt, more death, more suffering, is not nearly as important as Miley Cyrus grinding on Robin Thicke.

There are things I'm proud of, and then there are things that definitely disappoint me. Our military, certainly, is not "laughable." But at least you'd die with a smile on your face. :|

Aside from anime, I don't participate much in the entertainment world. Meaning I have no interest in upcoming movies, tv shows, etc. I just learned who Kate Upton was about a month ago lol. Some people may think I'm weird or extremely boring, but meh, I'm not ashamed lol.

Also, the fuss about Miley got me interested enough to Youtube it. At first, I saw a few response videos, a lot were saying how inappropriate it was. Then I finally came across the video where Miley is dancing suggestively, and then I saw the dancers that accompanied that rapper (right after Miley's performance).

You cannot generalize a whole country just by one generation. There are things America has that are enviable. For me, it's not an issue of being proud or not, because my being an American is simply a circumstance of birth. I think it's undeniable that we have a strong military. No, I'm not insinuating that the wars we involve ourselves in are good by saying that, so please don't misinterpret.

Yes, my generation is fascinated by pop culture. My generation is ignorant. My generation acts entitled. My generation rarely has to work for anything they want. But, my generation of "twerking" and reality television is not a country. Don't generalize a country by the people who live in it. Is Pakistan a bad country because of Al Qaeda? Is Germany a bad place because of the Nazis?

And your discussion of it is only making your country look worse. And you do realise that the people living in and governing the nation, and how the nation interacts with others, are the only ways to judge a nation? What? Do you expect me to base my opinion of a nation based on the flowers that grow there if not the people?
