How so? Itachi easily kept up with Kakashi in late part 1, and against Zabuza, Kakashi could only use his sharingan for a little more than an hour. As a child Kakashi probably couldn't use his sharingan more than 10 minutes. (Of course this fact is inconsistent as fuq.)

If Itachi doesn't have his MS (which he did at 16, but whatever) then Kakashi wins. He has more battle experience and jutsu. Itachi was just young and talented.
