The terrain choice is horrible for Gaara. He can't make new sand and he is near his weakness. If he can stay airbourne then he has a decent chance merely because Itachi would have a very rough time getting at him. If Gaara is forced to fight on the ground then I don't particularly like his chances.

In terms of stamina I think Gaara would outlast even a healthy Itachi. The most recent Gaara managed to hold off four powerful kage while retreating for a full day without suffering any visible casualties to his unit, fought and defeated the fourth kazekage (his dad) and the second mizukage almost single-handedly, helped defeat Muu, and started to fight Madara with no break at all. That is insane stamina. If it isn't ended quickly then Gaara might be able to outlast Itachi.

As a side note, Gaara's sand has never shown to be weak against water in the manga. It has shown to be weak against the mizukage's water only because it had an oily substance in it. His sand has only been shown to be weak to water in the anime. This weakness does make sense to me, but if we're going purely off the manga and not the anime there is no proof Gaara is weak against water. Personally I usually do include stuff that happens in anime (this included) - this is just here for the hardcore people who totally disregard what doesn't happen in the manga.

Even if Itachi is still 13 year old while fighting a 15-16 year old Kage, Itachi will still win.

1. The Location puts Gaara at a very huge disadvantage. Remember, Rain makes sand heavier and harder to control.


2. The Location puts Itachi at a huge advantage. Remember, his affinity is with Fire release and Water release.

3. One glance in Itachi's eyes and it's all over. If Danzo knows the power of Itachi's Tsukoyomi, then Itachi must have mastered Tsukoyomi before he even left the village.

Itachi does have water techs. And I don't think that water tech should necessarily be gaara's weakness since Doton > water.

Remember, the Rain village always rain. That makes the sand heavier and harder to control.

Your forgetting the fact that the terrain always rain. That makes the sand fall to the water. The sand will also be heaver since it's sand mixed with water. It will also be harder to control.

Yet during the fight with Pain and Jiriya it wasn't raining... Gaara is a kage and has beaten kage level people, Itachi did not kill any kage level people at 13 and most likely did not have mastery over the MS let alone the legendary weapons. To say a 13 yrs old Itachi would beat a kage like Gaara is now is absolutely ridiculous and shows your fanboysim.

Exactly.Gaara is used to elemental disadvantages,and he overcame them on numerous occasions.Even with the gold sand, which is obviously heavier than his regular sand.Kisame defeated the lava jinchuuriki,even though he was at a huge disadvantage.

People just like to hate on gaara and overrate itachi.A 13 years old itachi really?

Itachi has stamina issues? sick dieing medicine taking itachi, out lasted sasuke in chakra.....sasuke was out, and also out lasted him in stamina...Itachi put up sussano and collapsed...3 secs later sasuke also collapsed...So if sick itachi out lasted sasuke in chakra, and tied with him in stamina.....Healthy itachi won't have those problems....

Yeah but in this thread healthy Itachi is 13 and would not have tons of Chakra and Stamina because he is still just a child, unless he is a jinchuuriki.
Sick 20 something Itachi is gonna have more chakra than a 13 years old prepubescent Itachi.

13year old Itachi with low childish stamina and chakra could probably only use MS techs once or twice, with a couple fireball jutsus and he's done.
