Himawari we currently don't know much about other than that for the most part her general demeanor strongly reflects her mother's gentle and bashful personality. But we have seen in "the day Naruto became Hokage" she has a more violent side to her which I can draw parallels to Kushina and her "red hot habenaro" outbursts. Perhaps Himawari inherited these recessive bipolar genes from Naruto's side, making her scarier than first impressions would give.
Boruto on the other hand doesn't seem to take much after his mom at all but really represents a young Naruto that wasn't forced to grow up fast in the face of hatred. In the land of waves arc parallels are drawn between Naruto and Inari who Naruto mocks for being weak and a crybaby. Kakashi explains that Naruto tells himself those things all the time, because since for the longest time he had no family or friends he couldn't afford to feel sorry for himself and learned to suck it up.
Boruto seems to have more potential though, with Hyuuga genes once he matures he'll be a great ninja.
Edit:
I would like to add that Boruto seems to have inherited the stern pessimism of the Hyuuga clan in place of Naruto's unwavering optimism as well as having inherited Minato's preference for slick style and cool demeanor.
