Analyzing more recently introduced/developed characters

I don't know how many people on this site have been reading/watching Naruto since the beginning, as I have. Although it's become regular over the years, I remember how much the characters at the beginning blew my mind; the Konoha 11 and their senseis (especially Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, even Gaara).

Of course the ORIGINAL Akatsuki were amazing, Jiraiya was great. But are the current prominent characters really as amazing as these others were at first? Obito? Madara? Mei, Oonoki, A? I mean they're all somewhat interesting, but they don't give me the feeling of this as a transcending story that I had for the first few arcs of Part I, or beginning Shippuuden.

What does the rest of NB nation think? Agree/disagree? Thanks guys xd

I agree with Most of what you say .. Well first off, I do agree that some of the newer characters which appeared over the course of the Shippuden series aren't as Prominent as the fewer characters shown before. BUT sometimes when a Anime/Manga series continues over-time, we need those characters to make the story even more better than the arcs which came before it...

Obito and Rin are the awesomest characters ever I hope they come back and live in peace with Kakashi for all eternity in infinite tsukuyomi and become friends again that would be the perfect end to the manga.

Edo Madara somewhat... The last great part was when Naguto (Pein) passed away. Everyone introduced since has just been meh... Oro returning to the series is sweet... I hope Kabuto stays in his trance... I dislike his character very much...

Oh yeah I forgot Kabuto. All his actions and character since Oro's death have been a giant facepalm for me

Its true what you are saying..the beginning of Naruto was so awesome but now I dont know,the characters lost substance..

Oonoki is esp important since he is the oldest, while Gaara the youngest
We prob like the first arc chars more because we have seen more screen time from them, but lately its been less K11 screen time and more kage screen time.
How could you not like the kages over K11? They are supreme
