Im not sure if anyone posted this in a thread or not but im going to talk about it anyway.And also this is just an observation.
As we all know that orochimaru is a powerfull shinobi with a vast arsenal of techniques and also that he has an affinity with snakes. But one would think that if he can use snake related abilities he would be able to use ryuchidou(sage mode) thats not the case though. orochimaru had found out that ryuchi cave was the souce of jugo's clan which is the location of the white snake sage but at the time as kabuto stated " orchimaru had tried to gain the ability but he hadnt found the right body for it" yet he is able to use juinjutsu(cursed seal) which originated from jugo and like i said jugo's clan power originated from the ryuchi where the white snake sage resides.
If orochimaru was able to hold the cursed seal mark in his body (vessel) which allows him to brand sasuke, anko, kimimaro, sound four, etc. with the ability then Orochimaru should be able to use the curse seal and also go into sage mode, remember the curse seal comes from within his body.I do know that orochimaru body(vessel) becomes weak over a certain period of time but i dont think it should stop him from using sage mode, Orochimaru is a powerfull shinobi one of the best at that.
