I will start off by saying sorry to anyone who wanted to see more of ??? in they war, but I've decided to make the next three chapter's prequals (three so I could fit it in to the montly compitition).
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

A long time ago, there was a very small village hidden in the midst of the Land of Iron. This village was so increadbly small, they weren't even given a speck on the map. In this village, there were few ninja; a common rate would be one born every generation. Because of this, and the fact that the people did not want to go defenceless, some of the 'common' people trained hard with tai and kenjutsu, and became what are known today as the Samurai.
..... The Samurai went through increadably rough training that only ended if they were chosen to go to war, or some other location (such as the Five Kage Summit), and resumed when they returned. A unique trait about the Samurai was their armor. They would train with their armor on, but no helmets. A Samurai only donned a helmet when they were shown up by a ninja of the village, out of shame, and never removed them. But, this story is not about a Samurai. This story is about a young ninja, to be known throughout the five great nations as Zyphron.
..... Zyphron was a very unique boy, even for a ninja of his village, the Village Hidden in Swords (due to their masterful Samurai). Not only could he mould and focus chakra, but so could five other chidren of his generation! Six ninja born within the same generation was unheard of, not to mention within the same year! But yet here were five young boys and a young girl, moulding chakra and blasting each other with it, because they could. Well, four boys were blasting chakra.
..... Zyphron was the odd one out, because, even though the only sensor in the village, and elderly bag of wrinkles who could go any day and no one would be shocked, confirmed time and time again that he had chakra, but for some reason, he couldn't mould it. Now, the ninja of the Hidden Sword Village all had a unique trait; they had jutsu, or a mastery of jutsu, that no other ninja they've encountered could use, and most seemed to be able to mould chakra and exert it from their body's at will, with no lessons. The exception to this, was Zyphron...

Zech: C'mon, Zy, we all know you can do it, just come out here and play. We won't hit you too hard!
Zyphron: I would love to come out and play your game, you wouldn't even have to make it easy for me, but I can't mould chakra!
Christyn: C'mon, Zypher, we know you're lying; all ninja can do this!
Zech: Yeah, listen to Chris!
Christyn: MY NAME'S NOT CHRIS!!!!!
Christyn let loose a HUGE charka bolt that sent Zech across the field.
Zyphron: I'm sorry, Christyn, but I just can't do it. I'll catch you guy's later. See ya', Zech!
Gryden: See ya', man!
Zech: See ya'!

Zyphron walked all around the village, looking for somewhere to fit in. The Samurai wouldn't accept him, because he had chakra, he wouldn't let himself be accepted as a ninja, because he couldn't mould chakra, so he didn't know where to go. Because he was a ninja, he was treated like a god; he paid less for what he wanted (he still paid, due to the low econemy), he was allowed access to anywhere he wanted to go, there were no rules on him, like a Samurai, or regular citizen, but because he was apart of a six-ninja generation, he was treated less that past ninja in his village. No one went out of their way to do things for him, without being asked. No one offered him first pick of the market, though he could get it, if he wanted. This didn't bother Zyphron, but he wondered if he would keep his privilages if he didn't learn to mould chakra soon.
..... Zyphron passed the private Samurai dojo he walked by everyday, and noticed that it was empty. The man who ran the dojo looked out the window, and noticed on of the six ninja peering in. He ran outside the building, and spoke with Zyphron.

Breydon: Hey, aren't you-
Zyphron: YES! I'm Zyphron; the ninja who can't use chakra. Just leave me alone!
Breydon: If you insist, but I was going to offer you a private tai/kenjutsu lesson; a set of lessons!
Zyphron had turned to walk away, but stopped dead in his tracks when he heard the offer. He turned around to face the man.
Zyphron: But it's forbidden for ninja to learn Samurai techniques.
Breydon: That may be, but every ninja need's taijutsu, and swordsmenship will come in handy one day, mark my words. I won't teach you any Samurai secrets, that's what's forbidden, but you'll still learn something of value. Would you like to take a step in?
As soon as Breydon finished speaking, Zyphron had plowed his way into the dojo and was standing in a ready stance he had seen so many Samurai in.
Zyphron: LET'S START!

A month had passed since Zyphron's first tai/kenjutsu lesson, and he was comparable to a Samurai, forcing one to don a helmet without chakra. While Zyphron was taking a 'Lee' ninja path, his five friends had fully developed their specialties.
..... Gryden developed, and mastered, an earth technique he called 'Teraforming'. This technique allowed him to manipulate the earth around him at will. Having the ability to warp the ground your opponent stands on makes you a netorious foe. He also uses this ability to hide underground, where he will come up and finish you off. That is his favorite technique. Because of this, he became known as, 'Gryden of the Underground'.
..... Uudren Kaguya developed his clans, to-be-famous, Bone Style techniques. His abilities to manipulate the bones within his own body was so great, that merely a show-off routine made a Samurai don a helmet, instead of try and fight him. Uudren also found, that if his opponent was weak enough, he could control their bones. He couldn't made them use Kaguya techniques, but he could control or restrict their movements all he wanted. He became known as, 'Uudren of the Bones', although he reffered to himself as, 'The Human Puppeteer'.
..... Sora grew his ability to manipulate chakra so much, that he could actuallly use his chakra to propel himself into the air, and maintain it long enough, so that people said that he 'flew'. This technique was not taught to the Third Tsuchikage (or whoever taught him), but they insead, figured it out on their own, albeit to a lesser degree. Sora's chakra control was so great, he once lifted a mountain to prove his abilities, and moved it away from the village so they were no longer in so much shadow. In adition to his 'flight' ninjutsu, Sora was an expert in Water Style; being able to compress the moisture around him into a water source for his ninjutsu. Because of this, he learned how to manipulate clouds, and became a fairly skilled lightning user. Sora is known by the people as 'Sora of the Clouds'.
..... Christyn became the second most powerful ninja out of the six. Her specialty lied in Genjutsu. She had mastered how put an opponent under through any of his five senses. Her favorite way to put an opponent under a genjutsu was to throw multiple kunai at them. She would start with the sense of touch, just plane kunai. Then she would add tags which would activate the sense of sight. Then scented tags to activate the sense of smell. No one had ever avoided the secented kunai, so she never got a chance to use her sonic boom jutsu, designed to put an opponent under a genjutsu where they believed that all of their senses had failed, allowing her to get close and activate her touch-style genjutsu. Christyn was NOT a force to be trifled with. She put a genjutsu on a Samurai that made him put on a helmet, thus making it so he couldn't take it off. She bacame known as 'Christyn of the Mirage'.
..... But the most feared of all the ninja in their generation, had to be Zech. Zech had the ability to spit, and then control like water, an increadbly corrosive acid, the fumes of which, are poisonous. Zech never stopped looking for bigger and better ways to show that he was better than everyone else. He challenged all of his generation of ninja (except Zyphron, who he though would be unfair, and people could already tell who would win) to a fight. Zech melted through the earth Gryden tried to manipulate, he disintegrated Uudren's bones, he dispersed his acid in a vapour, which not only poisoned Sora, but when Sora tried to collect water in the air, he also got Zech's acid on his hands. The only ninja who put up a fight was Christyn. Cristyn put Zech under a genjutsu at the start that he didn't even notice, and then put him under another one. As Cristyn advanced to put a kunai to his neck, Zech broke through the second, obvious layer of her genjutsu, not being able to tell that he was still in a genjutsu. When Cristyn pulled out a kunai and Zech couldn't bring up any acid to melt it with, he quickly realized that he was in a genjutsu, broke it by breaking his finger, and spat acid towards Christyn, stopping it just before it melted her face.

Zech: You put up a good fight, Christyn, but the win goes to the better ninja.
Christyn: Oh well, just remember how close I got. The next time we fight, I'll get more than 'close'!
Zech: We'll see.
In Zech's cerimonial fight with a Samurai, no Samurai stepped forwards to fight. Zech was asked to pick an opponent. He looked out amoung the helmetless Samurai, and he nodded in a general direction. Because they couldn't tell who he nodded at, seven Samurai donned helmets.
Breydon: Alright, Zyphron. I have taught you all I can without breaking any rules.
Zyphron: And I thank you for it, Breydon-sensei.
Breydon: You are welcome, ninja. But, there is one last thing that I think you should do.
Zyphron: What is it?
Breydon: You do not have to do it, but I suggest that you should.
Zyphron: WHAT IS IT, BREYDON!!?!?
Breydon: I want you to go into the Kenkage's mansion, and get a hold of his 'Forbidden Techniques Scroll'.
Zyphron: You want me to steal the Kenkage's 'Forbidden Techniques Scroll'!?
Breydon: It's rumored that the scroll contains a jutsu for a ninja such as yourself; one who cannot mould chakra. Are you willing to risk it?
Zyphron looked up at Breydon for a while.
Zyphron: I'm ready!

Sora: Alright, you ready to do this?
Zyphron: Yeah, let's go.
In the dead of night, Sora used his flight jutsu to carry Zyphron and himself up the side of the Kenkage's mansion. They went up to the very top and found a window leading into the Kenkage's library.
Sora: How convienient.
Zyphron: Kenkage must like a skylight when he reads.
Sora: Must.
Sora collected the moisure in the air into a ring of water around one of the windows. The ring set down and span fast enough to cut straight through it, reforming underneath the circular window to stop it from shattering on the ground. Zyphron and Sora glidded down to the floor and began to search for the forbidden scroll.
Zyphron: Hey, Sora! I think I've found it!
Sora: What makes you think that!?
Zyphron: It's a scroll in a glass case marked, 'Open and You Die'!
Sora: That's probably it!
The two ninja went to the case and Sora cut it open to retrieve the sroll inside.
Samurai 1: HEY, SOMEONE'S BROKEN INTO THE KENKAGE'S MANSION!
Samurai 2: GET 'EM!
Sora: Oh, crap!
Fifteen Samurai burst into the library and surrounded Zyphron and Sora.
Sora: Well, it was nice knowing you, buddy.
Zyphron: Likewise, I'm sure.
Sora: What's that supposed to mean!?
Then there was a loud rumbling and a massive wall of earth errupted in front of the Samurai. Then a hole in the ground appeared and Gryden and Uudren jumped out.
Gryden: Heard you were in trouble.
Uudren: We can't just leave a friend.
The Samurai crashed through the wall and began the fray. Zyphron held his own easily with his sword, Sora imobilezed a few Samurai with his flight jutsu, Gryden trapped as many Samurai as he could in a box made from 'Teraforming', and Uudren killed many by crushing through their helmets with his bone drill. But the Samurai kept comming and eventually, they were too outnumbered to keep fighting.
Uudren: We can't keep fighting like this.
Sora: It's been nice knowing you guys.
Zyphron: STOP SAYING THAT!
Then there was a rumble, and the wall next to them disintigrated.
Zech: I suggest you all leave my friends alone, now.
Samurai 1: I- it's him!
Samurai 2: RUN!
Kenkage: Nobody's going anywhere.
Zyphron: It's the Kenkage!
Kenkage: What do we have here? Five of the six ninja of this generation have come to steal my forbidden scroll? How... Pleasant. I haven't killed anyone in a while.
Uudren: The Kenkage's a ninja too.
Gryden: We're toast.
Zyphron: Don't say that. Hold him off for a while, I'll try and find what I'm looking for!
Zech: You got it, buddy!
Zyphron took a few steps back, and began to scan through the scroll for anything that matched Breydon's description. The Kenkage immediatly took out his Kekkei Genkai, the ability mould any piece of metal he touches into any shape he wishes, his favorite being a sword. He took out seven kunai and turned them into swords, which he used more skillfully than any of the Samurai did with one sword. The four boys fought to the top of their abilities, but were eventually captured by Samurai and the Kenkage walked straight up to Zyphron. He put a sword to his throat and got ready to stab straight through.
Kenkage: So you're the cause of all this? Well, do you have any last words?
Zyphron: I do, actually. Four.
Zyphron dropped the scroll.
Zyphron: EXTERNAL CHAKRA FLOW JUTSU!
An odd feeling came over Zyphron, as his chakra nodes within his body became chakra rings outside his body. His chakra exploded in a fury of flow, breaking the Kenkage's makshift sword. Zyphron stood up, and looked the Kenkage straight in the eye.
Zyphron: This, ends, NOW Kenkage!
Christyn: Daddy, what's going on?
A drowsy Christyn stood at the entrance to the library, rubbing her eyes, trying to see what was happening.
Kenkage: Christyn!
Zyphron: Your father's the KENKAGE! I suppose I could've just asked you for the scroll, then.
Christyn: Zyphron, is that you?
Kenkage: He stole a technique from the families ancient Forbidden Jutsu Scroll.
Christyn: Am I supposed to care? He can finally use his chakra, and that's an amazing thing.
Everyone stood, speechless. No one knew what to say.
Christyn: I'm going back to bed before this get's even more awkward.
Christyn left, and the Kenkage turned back to Zyphron.
Kenkage: Now where was I? Oh, yes.
The Kenkage took out another 'sword', and hit Zyphron across the neck, shattering the sword.
Zyphron: Lame.
Zyphron pulled out his sword, also affected by External Chakra Flow.
Zyphron: My turn.
Zyphron cut through the air, no where near the Kenkage, and blasted him into the wall, along with all of the Samurai, and his friends, had Sora not used his jutsu to take them above the chakra. Sora let them down and Zech ran over to Zyphron.
Zech: Dude, that was freaking amazing; you have to teach me that!
Zyphron: It can only be learned by someone who has not mastered any jutsu. And besides, you're already freaking overkill!
Zech: I suppose you're right...
After that night, Zyphron found out that he had killed the Kenkage, and so he decided to flee the village and start his own, to be known as the 'Village Hidden in the Inferno'. All of his friends followed suit, Zech starting the 'Village Hidden in Acid', Uudren the 'Village Hidden in Bones', Gryden the 'Village Hidden in the Earth', Sora the 'Village Hidden in the Sky', and Christyn, who fled the village because she didn't want the pressure of filling her father's shoes, hid herself from the world in a massive genjutsu, which some expert genjutsu users would find, and found the 'Village Hidden in the Mirage'. For years, the six friends would not hear from each other, but one fateful day, they all recieved the same letter...

ummm... ???=Zyphron; i guess using the same colors for the names doesn't make that clear, sorry. well, chapter five was going to call ??? Zyphron anyways, so it would've made it clearer. and he learned it from the scroll, simmilar to how Naruto learned shadow clones.

Hmm, no offense but the bold letters are kinda displeasing to the eye.:) This was your winning piece, right? Congratulations!:) I must admit that I haven't really read through it at that time due to the bold letters, my apologies. Try using the bold letters with the names only.;)

I read now, even so. Considering that you placed 3rd for it, I must say its quite an interesting story, indeed.:) I'm seeing that Zyphron is the impossible threat here. Nice portrayal of the jutsus, too. I must say though, that I still would have voted for the one I did at that time. His story captured my interest more than this, not to mention that his writing style was splendid. All throughout though, this piece is worth the winning.:) I'd be reading through the rest, ofc.:)
