I was thinking that maybe there could have been another reason why Indra didn't become the SO6P'S successor.
And i thought it would be really cool if Indra was actually his nephew, so his father was in fact the brother we don't know about, and that is why he was so different to Ashura. Indra may have hated his uncle for treating him differently, maybe because his real dad was actually evil, which may have contributed to the curse of hatred.
This is just a random thought i had so don't take it seriously
