[Raiton] An Electrifying Training Session

This particular student of his seemed rather eager - perhaps a bit too eager, in fact. As Adachi neared the designated area, he noted with a certain degree of curiosity the careful, yet precise care that Deathstroke demonstrated as he sharpened his swords. For awhile, he stood there listening to the monotonous, repetitive screech as a bright glint rapidly appeared upon the polished weapons. Then he quietly walked up to his student, standing for a short moment before he decided to speak.
"Deathstroke, I'm assuming?" Adachi said, though more of a statement rather than a question. "I've been informed that you wish to learn the arts of the Lightning element." He paused a brief moment, only to shove his hands into the depths of his pocket, a habit he never seemed to be rid of. "Before I begin, I'd like to know what exactly compelled you to want to learn this element and what you look forward to doing with the knowledge you acquire from our session."
"Deathstroke, I'm assuming?" Adachi said, though more of a statement rather than a question. "I've been informed that you wish to learn the arts of the Lightning element." He paused a brief moment, only to shove his hands into the depths of his pocket, a habit he never seemed to be rid of. "Before I begin, I'd like to know what exactly compelled you to want to learn this element and what you look forward to doing with the knowledge you acquire from our session."
"Adachi Sensei, I presume."
"Greetings, Deathstroke is the name my enemies call be by, If you wish, you can call me Slade. Yes, it is true that Raiton has appealed to my senses, and It is in my understanding that you can help me hone my skills in this elemental release."
-Deathstroke swirls his katanas through his fingers while looking at them for a brief second.-
"As you can see, my swords mean alot to me. Its care and use are of utmost importance. My kenjutsu techniques are ones I pride in, and it is my understanding that the fusion of Raiton and Kenjutsu can give rise to exciting jutsus and techniques. Also, Iwagakure ninjas have been known to cross my path multiple times, and hinder my endeavors. It is my understanding that Raiton would be effective against them.
Raiton also fantasizes me, and I believe that I would use it in my battles to the utmost efficiency. My main aim is to hone my Kenjutsu and Raiton skills together, to create devastation to those who oppose me. I will be in your gratitude if you can help me achieve this ambition."

"Slade it is," Adachi responded, nodding to his student's words. "I see that you wish to attribute Raiton's natural, brutal power to the likes of your weapons. Fitting indeed. You will find that Kenjutsu and Raiton do tend to go hand in hand." He paused briefly to glance into the sky, watching for some time the eased manner with which the clouds passed overhead. "While the weather is not so suitable for our training, that will be changed in due time. For now, allow me to speak briefly about Lightning. I am sure that you aware of the five elements and their attributing strengths and weaknesses. Lightning is essentially weak to Wind due to Wind being a natural insulator, yet strong against Earth due it being able to cut through its properties. As you may also be aware of, Water is a natural conductor, so both of the techniques do work quite well in conjunction, but it is still dangerous to handle such a combo."
With those words, he formed several handseals, causing a storm of clouds to rapidly obscure the sun, dimming the surroundings around student and sensei. The sound of thunder echoed in the far distance as light rain began to pour upon the training grounds, however, was not enough to soak either of them. "I'd like you to begin by gathering a bit of the water that is forming in puddles around us. Just a bit, within the palm of your hands."

-Slade felt at home in this dark, desolate environment. He pondered his glory days in the Bloody Mist, before he shook it off, and paid attention to his Sensei-

-After paying heed to his Sensei, who calmly explained the basics of Raiton, he was amazed by its simplicity, and the difference to his other training methods. Slade removed his mask, revealing a wry face burdened with scorn, in order to get a better view of the environment he would be training in. In accordance with his Sensei's request, he knelt down, placed his mask on the floor, and glanced at a small, yet brewing puddle to his left. He places his hands together, creating a cup-like structure, as if praying to the deities that some chose to believe in. He places his hands into the puddle, and scoops up a bit of water, not too much that it would overflow, yet not to less that it would flow out of his hands in no time. He then rises, water still intact in his hands, and asks-
"What next Sensei?"

Walking up to his student, he placed a single finger within the puddle, sending a brief spark of chakra into it - not enough to harm anyone, but the effects were still enough to shock the individual.
"Now," Adachi began to explain. "No doubt you would have felt the effects of the shock - however, before I derive into that particular experience, allow me to inform you about a bit about the chakra system of a shinobi. Chakra is an essential part of the Ninja World and mastery over it is a must. As you know, we have a constant flowing system of chakra that grants us to capability to manipulate the five elements. And although not visible, there are 361 points on our body that are able to release this chakra to which we then can form into something of benefit to us. These points are called Tenketsu and the areas upon where they lie are only visible if you possess the Kekkei Genkai of Byakugan. Now, chakra is very special and there are generally two ways to deal with it, known as shape and nature manipulation. Shape manipulation allows us to form this chakra into something we like, the literal form of the chakra and how large or small it be. It also maintains the power of the chakra and allows us to further control it even when it is not a part of our body. Secondly, there is the nature manipulation - this deals with changing your chakra into the corresponding element you want, whether it be one of the five elements, combining two of them, or even a special Kekkei Genkai. This is something we will begin to use when we take a step into our first Lightning techniques."

"Now, I'd like to you to describe me how you felt when I shocked you with the Lightning chakra and how you think Lightning chakra might flow along with how you would manipulate it according to the techniques described above."

Deathstroke feels a slight shock go through his hands, and through his body, into the ground. He did not feel pain. Instead he almost enjoyed it.
"The feeling of Lightning chakra through my body, it was truly uplifting. It jolted me, almost heightening my sense for a shirt pepriod of time. However I'm sure that the rule deal would not be so pleasing to me.."

Lightning is also a wild, sporadic element, so I think that it's flow may be more eccentric, more unpredictable than other elements."

When shocked, Slade barely moved an inch, a reaction that was far different from most of Adachi's other students. Silently listening to his student's explanation, Adachi nodded his approval when he finished. "It is not Raiton, but chakra that flows through us upon which our affinities are then able to manipulate it to become the element we desire it to be. 'Altering the frequency of the vibrations of our chakra' is a great way to begin," he said. "And that's precisely what I'd like you to do for a start. Handseals are a topic that we can later derive into, but let's start with the basic steps."

Call upon your affinity with Lightning and then pushing out chakra from the points in your hand, produce just enough Lightning power to break this rock into pieces. Give it your best shot."

Brushing this off, he concentrates on the rock, and the task at hand. He closes his eyes, and begins to concentrate his chakra, as he feels it flow through his body. He concentrates harder on the chakra in his right hand, where the rock is placed. Putting his mind at ease, he imagines the sporadic movement of lightning, it's electricity crackling. He then begins to try and adjust the vibration on his chakra, and its frequency as well. He slowly begins to form Raiton Chakra in is right hand, which causes a couple of cracks on the rock. Unfortunately, it was not enough.
Slade continued to form Raiton chakra, but he did not expel it until he was sure that it would be enough. After a couple of seconds, once he believed that his chakra was enough, he released an electric current, which successfully shattered the rock. Clutching the pieces before dropping them on the ground, he looked up to his Sensei, eager for his next task.

Upon receiving the rock, Slade closed his eyes in prominent concentration. At first, as Adachi observed, it appeared that his student had trouble grasping his Lightning affinity as the results only produced mere crackles here and there, however, as time passed, his control over the wild element became more precise and accurate and finally, with a burst of light, the rock shattered within Slade's grasp, breaking into several dozen pieces.
The student glanced up at Adachi as the latter grinned in approval. "And that right there is, though very unfocused, is your very first Lightning technique," Adachi announced. "However, there is no time to rest right now. Given that you know how to handle your Lightning affinity and call upon it now, next would be to learn how to master your control over it." With a single hand, he directed Slade's gaze at a tree about five meters away from their current position. "In battles, aim is always important. Simply stating that you throw a kunai but not knowing where you aimed it is a fatal error. Thus, what I'd like you to do now is to build up Lightning chakra in both your hands - once you feel that you have a sufficient amount, proceed to slam your hands upon the ground before you to carefully control the Lightning released to make a straight beeline towards the tree ahead in order to unroot it."

Recounting his previous task, he fathoms the amount of chakra he would need to reach the tree. Slowly, nevertheless steadily, he began to gather up his chakra in both his hands, this time, for than he used to break the rock. Once both his hands contained chakra at a high frequency, he believed it would be enough. Releasing his hands, palms down, he slammed the ground hard, as he began to notice the crackle and sparks traveling through the terrain-
-This continued until the tree, to Slade's satisfaction, and shattered its roots, causing it to uproot. Staring at the, now destroyed, tree, Slade felt a twinge of satisfaction, as he believed he had successfully mastered his first Lightning Technique-

Stepping back, Adachi watched as Slade clapped his hands together, his index fingers making contact as he formed a Tiger handseal. Lightning gathered in his hands as he then proceeded to slam the ground, releasing a wave of Lightning that traveled directly towards the tree that Adachi had pointed out earlier. Upon striking the tree, it crackled and eventually fell down, crumbling onto the ground lifelessly.
Adachi nodded in approval as he turned his student. "Now, you will be learning a stronger version of this jutsu later," he explained. "However, there are two aspects to this jutsu I'd like to explain to you before we move on. Firstly, this jutsu, unlike the previous one, has a motive, a goal. I told you to aim this towards a tree, and you did so. Aim is a factor that remains extremely important in any fight. If you use a jutsu without purpose, then it would be essentially pointless, so remember to always state where you aim your jutsus in a battle. Secondly, although I told you to target a tree, when used on humans, this jutsu would affect their feet much like it did a tree's root, and since it is a rather low-ranking jutsu, its purpose is not to kill, but to shock the opponent so that they lose balance."
With those words, Adachi formed the same handseal that Slade did earlier, though this time, a clone directly resembling him appeared. "Set your sights upon my clone now," he instructed. "And much like what you did with the first technique, focus Lightning chakra into your hands and then release them in bursts, targeting my clone with waves of Lightning."

-Deathstroke prepared his hands again in a tiger seal, as he started to mold his chakra much like his previous jutsu. Once he felt that he contained enough for a small barrage of attacks, he turned to his Sensei's clone and stared down at his feet. He crouched down, and slammed his right hand into the ground, while continuously staring at the feet. He felt the lightning current flow through the ground, and reach the feet, electrocuting the clone. He immediately followed it up by a left hand slam, and continued this for 6 hits, attack the feet, until he had exhausted the chakra that he prepared in his hands. The clone, though the shocks were of a mild power, was still put off balance.-
Adachi chuckled a bit at his student's demonstration of the technique. "You have the concept down though it wasn't necessary to slam the ground this time around. I simply wanted you to showcase a better mastery of the element itself. (OCC: Think of this jutsu as Chancellor Palpatine from Star Wars with his force lightning wrecking everyone...if you get this reference.)"
Reaching into his pocket, he drew out a scroll that rapidly dissipated into a blackboard showing a diagram of the twelve known handseals. "Now as I've noticed," Adachi said. "You have been utilizing the Tiger seal to help you focus your chakra. This is excellent and it lets me know that you have a general knowledge of this important concept. If you haven't yet, take it upon yourself to memorize these twelve handseals and keep practicing until you know it by heart. Essentially, handseals allow us to single out chakra and allows us to concentrate in order to formulate it into a single jutsu or more. However, the amount of handseals also play a very important aspect during battle."
His right hand came to the sword that was sheathed next to him and with practiced grace, drew it out swiftly to stab it into the ground before him. "Now, let's tie everything we've learned so far into this next jutsu." Adachi shoved his hands back into his pocket, gazing at Slade impassively. "I'd like you to form the handseals of Tiger → Snake → Dog and then release chakra from your hands once more. However, this time, there is not so much as a single target focus but on a wide-spread area. You will discharge the Lightning chakra much like before but at a straight line in the resemblance of a current. Don't let go of focus until you're reached at least fifteen meters from your current position. Use my sword as a point of focus, as I want you to strike it directly. Once you have done that, explain to me the importance of handseals and how this technique may or may not be advantageous."

oops.. Clasping his hands together, Deathstroke created the all-familiar tiger seal. He then went on to create, the all-familiar tiger seal. He then lowered his index and middle fingers to form the snake seal. Then, placing his right fist underneath his flat left hand, he created the final seal required for this jutsu; Dog.
Placing his right hand in front of him, he focused his aim straight at the sword that was stabbed in the ground. He then unleashed a numerous bolts of lightning. A few of them missed the sword, while some didn't even reach the sword. However, after redoing this, Deathstroke was able to electrocute the sword with all his bolts, with ease as well.
"Well, hand seals basically allow you to control the exact amount of chakra required to execute your jutsu. Therefore, different hand seals are used for different jutsu, as different amount of chakra is always required for them."
" The advantages to this technique are numerous. Firstly, it can be used to targeted a wider area than other lightning jutsus. This is good if you are trying to push an enemy to a certain location, or if the opponent is good at evading."
"Disadvantages, well, it does not do too much damage, it may be more of a shocking attack, to keep the opponent of guard, than an offensive attack. I would use it as a distraction more than an actual attack. Also, the user needs to be fairly adept at aiming these bolts, so if there is, for example Kirigakure no Jutsu, it would be hard to do this."

It was only mere moments before Slade adjusted, being able to focus and manipulate the Lightning chakra with ease. (He was now fully replicating Chancellor Palpatine and bringing everyone over to the dark side...)

-As Slade prepared for his next technique, his hands were already in the Tiger seal pose, then, into Snake, and finally into Dog. After this, there was an abundance of Raiton chakra in Slade's hand. With this, he extended his hand, as a great electric current was released. This current spanned a wide area, and a very long distance as well, nearly hitting the trees on the other side of the field. Deathstroke felt a sense of accomplishment, staring at this all powerful attack.-
