[Gimp] An Effect

So I just got GIMP yesterday and started going through some tutorials and one thing caught my mind. I followed the steps in the tutorials and the result was this.

Tips would be appreciated. Oh I also own Photoshop CS6 so I would be glad if someone would teach me some stuff about it >_>...

Nicely done! The blur isn't really working in the artpiece though. It looks to random and not "focused" for lack of a better word..

What Horus said stands firm. It is very nicely done, but the blur kinda ruins the effect in some matters.

And you know, picking up the talent in photoshop is not a bad thing, and I will be here to help as well...

Ermm, I didn't use any blur stuff in that work.. Maybe it is because of gradient I used?
