An analysis for potential victories for Nagato over commonly top tier ranked shinobi. Keep in mind, this is not the Edo version of Nagato. Both Shinobi in these fights have the knowledge of every fight they have ever had. If they have never said anything about the opponent, it is implied that they do not know anything about their opponent. Also, both characters are considered to be in their "primes."
Nagato:
Strengths- Lifelong battle and lifelong combat knowledge of Rinnegan give him the advantage and unparalleled jutsu compared to most other shinobi. He has linked views to both his summons and Paths of Pain.
Weaknesses: due to his injuries sustained in a previous encounter with Hanzou of the Salamander he cannot move quickly.

Hasharama the God of Shinobi: known throughout the Narutoverse as the God of Shinobi, Hasharama is the first and greatest user of the Kekkei Genkai Wood Style. He defeated Madara and is a proud first Kage of Konoha.
Potential Reasons why Nagato would win: in the world of Naruto life is essentially composed of chakra; therefore lack thereof means the absence of life. Hasharamas wood style would be ineffective against direct combat with Nagato to to the Blocking Technique Absorbsion Seal. Shinra Tensei is the perfect counter for Flower world because he could push all of the plants away from him. His summons, being dead as well as multiple sizes bigger than humans, would be effected little by they poisons that are created. Summons grant extra vision to help counter surprise attacks with Wooden Kagebunshins. Hand to hand combat is to Nagatos advantage because he can steal both Chakra and souls.
Potential reasons why Hasharama would win: high level regeneration could help him deal with Nagatos long/medium range ninjutsu such as any of his flaming arrow techniques or any of his high powered water or air techniques. The new fact that Hasharama has sage mode changes gameplay around a little. Due to this Nagato could be potentially injured or killed by absorbing his personal chakra (once the chakra is molded into a nature this does not apply, example; Sage Naruto uses sage chakra to form Rasen Shuriken, which can still be absorbed). Sage mode grants an increase in to about everything making every single move twice as powerful. It would be extremely deadly if he could land a surprise punch (even in non sage mode people speak of his high physical strength). Chibaku Tensei could possibly be countered by digging in with a set of trees and rooting them deep in the ground so that he couldn't be lifted by its high gravitational pull.
My personal opinion: Draw. Would love to see the fight though! Both are extremely skilled shinobi with crazy chakra reserves and field altering ninjutsu I think they'd fight to a standstill.
