An ability of Madara's that you may have overlooked

Ok, we all saw how he gained senjutsu from Hashirama and drained his chakra.

Now most of us thought that it could only be applied against Hashirama because Madara has his cells. However, upon rereading the chapter for kicks, I noticed something. It's not just limited to Hashirama.

Notice to the right that when Madara's stepping on a cloaked shinobi, he has the same markings on his ankles as his wrist when he absorbed Hashirama's senjutsu. On top of that, notice that one of the sound effects on that panel is "suck." When Sasuke used amaterasu on Madara, Hashirama said "He can absorb ninjutsu! What does this mean?" Most of us thought that amaterasu just simply didn't work because he threw off his armor, but here's the thing. In the panel that shows his armor, there's only traces of amaterasu left as opposed to the huge blaze it originally was. In one of the panels, there's still traces of amaterasu on Madara himself. This supports that he indeed absorbed amaterasu.


Conclusion: Madara probably has the ability to absorb chakra and ninjutsu even without the rinnegan. Did any of you guys catch this?

Yes....he can apparently....and also in the Viz translation it is said he absorbed Amaterasu.

He did use susano without his eyes. It's possible he can use some of the rinnegan's powers without his eyes. Also, it could be mokuton related.

He probably used Preta Path. It's been shown that once you awaken MS/EMS, you can use Susanoo regardless of having eyes or not. The same probably applies to the Rinnegan's techniques.

he can use the six paths without Rinnegan. The eyes seem to only awaken the ability, but the only ability that Madara can't seem to do without Rinnegan is summon the Gedo Mauzou

Holy shit, some people are slow. I mean, like, this was obvious from the day of release of the page where he got hit with amaterasu.

The fanfic "He removed his armor" was so much rubbish of an excuse, it didn't even make a shred of sense.

i know i'm late to this thread but hear me out...i dnt think it had to do with the rinnegan ability because when he dropped his armor there was a suprised look from hashirama and later on he said that madara had somehow revived his past powers which leads me to believe that he could absorb chakra before...

I agree, in fact, I made a similar post above. I mean, preta path did not work this way. It didn't put strange marks on his wrists or ankles.

Chakra absorption jutsu. It's the same jutsu used by Yoroi, Jirobo, Kisame, and orochimaru. It's a jutsu that doesn't require kkg, just the right knowledge and skills. It's a jutsu Madara probably had back in pre village era, because Hashirama recognized it and even said Madara regained his old powers after getting absorbed.
