Why didn't it burn through Karin's cloak?

Why doesn't it set fire to Earth's atmosphere and kill all life on Earth?

Why didn't it turn Gaara's sand into glass, when they collided at the 5 Kage Summit?

Why didn't it burn Madara when Sasuke used it on him?

Why didn't it burn Naruto, during Sasuke's final fight with him?

The Sun is plasma, and if Amaterasu was hotter than the sun, then not only would Karin be dead from when she got hit, but so would most of Kumogakure.
