ususal rasengan is a close combat jutsu,amatersu mostly long range jutsu so it's enough to have even small distance to win the battle with amaterasu but in the close range the result will be the opposite
about rasenshuriken:if we talk about about strenth the the answer is obvious but it's has fatal "-" of that jutsu - speed,when you use amaterasu u need just one look and ... you're done

The correct formula is Amaterasu=Rasenshuriken. Kishi stated something along the lines of keeping them equal, so naturally they both have a one hit kill. In Rasenshuriken's case just exclude the third Raikage and in Amaterasu's case Tobi. Both a one hit kill on pretty much any shinobi in the Naruto universe.

Great point Eternity000. It's things like this that make me respect Naruto more. I mean it's a comparison of the so called village idiot's ability to master then alter an amazing jutsu in a way that sh**s on his elders. As oppose to a poke on the forehead by your brother and boom instant ability. So in closing I agree with Eternity000, I'll take the jutsu with no risk any day.

Why create an obvious thread? Of course amaterasu is way better than rasengan but if you're refering to frs then it's an entire different story though i'd still pick amaterasu over frs. Let's compare both jutsu
Amaterasu can be used for both offense and defense while frs can only be used for offense.
frs only works on blank range point while amaterasu doesn't... I can keep on going but i'd just stop here xd

A regular Amaterasu is fire release. Its only blaze release when you manipulate it. So Amaterasu does not equal blaze release.
