amaterasu> Nagato?

I know this has been discussed before .....
but

Im still confused on what (if any) counter nagato has to Amaterasu.
Did I miss something in the chapter where Itachi hits Nagato with amaterasu?

Was it plot?

I don't remember the chapter too well, but from what I do remember, Itachi hits Nagato with it, which burns his hands off, and without edo form, Nagato would've had no hands.

Thats a disaster to a ninja.
plus that could have been much worse (hits face or chest),

While its accepted by most sensible people that Nagato>Itachi or Sasuke(current)
I find no counter for this.


please tell me what the counter is, or whether or not there is a counter at all.

No. Never.

Edit: Nagato being a sensor means that he can sense Amaterasu before Itachi has a chance to use it on him; One of the chapters shows Nagato sensing it. Therefore, because he's a sensor, he can create a Shinra Tensei right before Itachi uses it.

the amaterasu did burn him for a little bit but kabuto was fully controlling him and wasn't worried about him dying since he's an edo and instead was thinking of how to get shisui's eye
then kabuto made nagato use shinra tensei to get it off of him he could have done it sooner
nagato also knows when itachi is going to use amaterasu because of the pressure so if nagato is in control of himself he can use shinra tensei when he feels the pressure

No. Nagato can sense it. Then he can just activate preta path before it hits and asorb.

Well nagato can counter with knowledge. What I mean is that Nagato is a sensory ninja, and has shown that he can tell when Itachi is going to use amaterasu before he uses it (he noted the pressure change). So basically if Nagato was in control and not Kabuto then he would have made a counter right there an then. This could be shinra tensei, Petra path, a soul rip, machine path missles, hiding in the chameleon, summoning a animal, etc, etc.

hmm I suppose this is a good counter,

basically what you saying is Kabuto was completely controlling Nagato (not having full knowledge or experience on how Nagato "works" or have the ability to sense like Nagato can) and also wasn't concerned whether or not Nagato got hit or not.

It was chapter 550\51 maybe, Nagato blew that fire from his body with ST, he can do that without any problem and also he can sense it before Itachi uses it, he can also absorb it with Preta path since it is Ninjutsu.

Not really since edo tensei's can't react or attack each other, that's why Kabuto took over.

Petra path + sensing and shinra tensei > amaterasu.

Nagato was seen removing the Amaterasu with Shinra Tensei while it was on his body.

As for the charred body, he took too long in removing it, and it was a surprise attack from Itachi (he was just released from Edo Tensei's control)

So in conclusion, Shinra Tensei is a counter to the Amaterasu, but only if Nagato uses it the split second he gets burned.
