Amaterasu's weakness and Ways to counter it.

Amaterasu is the highest level Fire Release technique, and according to Zetsu, the strongest ninjutsu of Itachi's eyes. The jet-black flames of the Amaterasu, said to be "the fires from hell" that are as hot as the sun, ignite at the focus of the user's vision. Though the flames have been stated to be unavoidable, Amaterasu has been avoided a few times; A using his Lightning Release Armour enhanced Body Flicker Technique avoided a short-range Amaterasu launched at him by Sasuke in an instant.

WEAKNESS

The only thing that the flames have failed to burn into or through is Gaara's chakra-infused sand. However, the flames burn fairly slowly, sometimes allowing anyone struck by Amaterasu an opportunity to remove whatever clothing or body parts have been caught ablaze. Nagato was able to deflect the flames from his body using Shinra Tensei. Use of the technique also puts a great deal of strain on the user, usually causing their eyes to bleed.

Ways to counter

1. Since Amaterasu in one dimensional, all a shinobi would do is to put a obstacle that would block the caster's sight towards its target.
2. fast enough speed and moving side wards, this greatly diminishes the chance of the caster to hit its target.

Im pretty sure its common knowledge every jutsu has a weakness. But it terms of killing power nothing really beats flames that never go out until the target is destroyed.

I doubt that anybody is fast enough to do the handseals required to perform the ninjutsu you stated, before amaterasu ignites you.

It may work before the technique is even used, but then why would he continue through with using Amaterasu, when he cannot see his target?

Also it didnt fail to burn through Gaaras sand, it was in the process of burning it, not exactly a fail.

Overall not a weak jutsu at all.

Amaterasu can also be sealed. Jiraiya sealed the remaining flames left after Itachi broke free from his toad prison

No it´s not a weak jutsu at all BUT it´s kind of overrated.Only really strong shinobi can deal with it.

Nagato got sucker punched since he knew Itachi was on his side and then Itachi burned him instead.

He showed that he can sense it, thus he would have no problem avoiding it.
