If they don't disappear then amaterasu just keeps burning, meaning the edo is in a continuous "attacked" state and will never regenerate, thus sealing them. I think that's what OP is getting at

IMO once the EDO is burnt to ashes and the flames extingish, it'll begin to regenerate once again since it's soul wasn't liberated or it's body wasn't sealed.

Well Amaterasu is said to burn for 7 days and 7 nights so I doubt it'll keep them down indefinitely.

Difference is Tsunade feels pain and doesn't have unlimited chakra to last he 7 days and 7 nights that Amatersau burns. Edo's will stay burning until Ama fades away while Tsunade runs out of chakra since she has to constantly be regenerating her whole body.

Also, I don't know if its true but assuming amaterasu burns out after seven days then the edo will regen after a week.
