people that can counter amaterasu :

1 - Orochimaru = body shedding or Triple Rashōmon
( DEF against most of jutsus )

2 - pain's Preta Path

3 - Yamato's Wood Locking Wall jutsu

4 - gaara's sand can block it and we saw it

5 - tobi

and the list goes on

its a strong jutsu but in the same time
overhyped and overrated

No... the fireball is still made from chakra. Preta path allows you to absorb an infinite amount of chakra in any form. Sasuke's fire jutsu has the same properties as natural fire, but it is simply made out of chakra. Which means it can be burnt by Ama and the Preta path can absorb it.

sasuke blocked gaara's sand with Enton, not the other way round. plus, im sure fire burns wood, especially fire that can burn fire itself

Its because the chakra has been turned into an element which allows it to be burnt. I said it before, it has the same properties as fire but it is made from chakra. You have basically changed the properties of the chakra into fire. Pure chakra, which hasn't been turned to an element can't be burnt.

Possibly but if it stays on him and it continues to burn, i believe it will eventually get past naruto's shroud. Thats off course if sasuke can land amaterasu on naruto anyway which currently isnt happening xd

ok i been seeing sasukes fans saying that sasuke can hit naruto with amatarasu and is all OVER..

first off i dont even know how can he even land an amatarasu on naruto? ok lets just say it does , somehow he manages to hit naruto with an surprise amataruse .... will it kill naruto?

i think when sasuke used amatarasu on an samurai and gaara's brother used chakara strings to take there armors off..

so could it be that amatarasu doesnt work on naruto? since he has chakara like shield around him?

oro vs 4tails naruto = oro couldnt even scratch naruto even using The Kusanagi Sword which was said to cut everything. and now he has full control over the chakara not to mention we still havent seen much from his new powers , same can be said for sasuke :shrug:

ok maybe it is time to explain how the amaterasu works.the amaterasu works like any normal fire.only just that it is much more hotter than any normal fire and the fact that it can't be quenched makes the situation hopeless.in naruto's case he and kurama has been fused.ask yourself what will happen if sasuke aims the amaterasu on kurama instead of naruto.sasuke will kill kurama the nine tails straight because kurama in his tail beast form can't quench the black flames.for the samurai.the flames were burning his armour.he was lucky that kankaro tore his armour away from him before it was too late.actually.the amaterasu is indeed a one hit kill. no doubt about it and it can burn everything including chakra. i hate to see kurama the nine tails roasted alive by the flames.he will die instantlly. amaterasu is not like normal flames that you can call the fire service to quench.it is like the flames from Hell.

It blocked the Kusanagi sword.

The cloak, unlike A's lightning armor, is tangible. It is fully capable of grabbing things and thus it is safe to assume that it is somewhat of a "magic jacket". even if he was hit by the amaterasu all he has to do is extend out a chakra arm and remove the flames.

I'm not saying it wouldn't hurt, I just don't think that it would catch him entirely. The four tails jinchuuriki clipped Naruto with a magma ball, he didn't catch fire, but it did kind of burn him. The same applies when Naruto caught his punch. It burned, but didn't catch fire.
