yeah i noticed itachi probably didn't need to use the mangekyou sharingan like sasuke because he could beat almost everyone with the regular sharingan unlike sasuke

Itachi was smart enough to only use his Mangekyo when it was necessary.
Sasuke used his Mangekyo constantly as soon as he awakened it, hence he went blind quicker.

Like everyone else said, Itachi didn't ridiculously spam techniques like Susanoo every time he battled. Sasuke did so his eyesight deteriorated much faster

Well TBH sasuke for majority of his MS days mostly fought kage level ninja. If not , only fought kage level ninja (excluding samurai) when he attained MS.
