Naruto might be goofy and act stupid very often , but he was never praised as a genius.Take for an example the fight with Pain.All the tactics he used were very clever and well executed.It is true that he had tones of intel but still he managed to beat him with ease.It is true that Naruto looks like a tard , acts like a tard and often talks like a tard but combat wise i feel that he has to be praised as a genius.In the upcoming fight he will outsmart Sasuke mark my words.
Naruto has been bashed all his life for being stupid that is why he was never able to fully appreciate himself.
I would love a cocky Naruto that has the attitude of Madara.
And regarding the TNJ it takes a lot of understanding in the field of psychology for an individual to be able to mind rape like that.
And when i say Mind Rape just reread the TNJ with Obito i had the feeling that Naruto was slowly penetrating him while staring him in the eyes with his stone cold expression.
So Naruto is one of those talented kids that were never acknowledged and due to that fact he never got cocky which is a shame in my opinion.
