Katon is the element of fire. It represents the will of a ninja to keep fighting at least that is in the village of Konoha. It is a more offensive element used to attempt to burn the enemy and the surrounding environment, but a strong offensive is always a good defensive as in a way of harassing the enemy with fire. It is very strong against wind due to the wind making the fire burn hotter and doing more damage and it is weak to water because this will cool down what ever it is burning until the fire fades.
