so i was catching up on the itachi sasuke vs kabuto eps, and was wondering how the the series would turn out if madara didn't reverse edo tensie. i mean beside obito have trouble controlling the juubi at first. would you have been satisfied with the series? satisfied with madara; even if he wasn't fully shown? would obito have become a jinchuriki? or did madara play a part in that that allowed obito to accomplish that? i can't remember. and at the end they could have done a zetsu walks off into obscurity; evil still lurking, type of thing.

It's perfect as it is now.

Nah, Kishimoto loves to foreshadow things. Madara being the main antagonist has been foreshadowed since the start of the series and now it's finally happening. I'd actually be quite displeased if Madara had been silenced there, but still content with all the Obito drama, I find his story more intruiging anyway.

It wouldn't have been right for Madara to just fade away.

Obito was always, and still is a relatively worthless shinobi. Even as the Juubi's jinchuriki, he really didn't do anything. Sasuke needs to learn something about the abilities of the Uchiha, and Madara really is the only person that can teach him anything new at this point. He learned about Izanagi from Danzo, Izanami and Amaterasu from Itachi, he already learned about Perfect Susanoo from Madara. Sasuke now needs to see the real potential of the Uchiha bloodline in order to make his next evolution as a character, and Obito wouldn't have been able to fulfill that role.

Furthermore, Kishi would have still brought back Hashirama. It would kind of feel hollow to have the two most powerful shinobi in history (who happen to also be fierce rivals) back without having them fight again.

In short, while I don't think the story is necessarily perfect right now, it is better with Madara than it would have been without him.
