having a love for someone doesnt make you a beta. sure one can have a one of those false love thats a toxin/toxic to your well being but is still a goal to protect and appoint progression. what makes a alpha superior to beta is that the alpha is the one who walks ahead of everyone . the only who can lead the sheep into the right path. the alphas are kage lvl ppl whom are with unequally in both strength and wisdom within thier respected villages/group.
