And all the men and women his players.
I'd always known Madara functioned on a rather Machiavellian scale of morality, and yet...this chapter once again reminded me of just why Madara is my favorite character in this manga. He's simply on a different level mentally than Naruto, Kakashi, Sakura, even Sasuke.
Obito was not a mere pawn to him; he risked quite a lot in order to convert him to his own side. The Sanbi's failed rampage, Kakashi killing his teammate, all a plot to get Obito to awaken his Mangekyou Sharingan and to allow, as he said, Darkness to Manifest.
One can say that if his revelations in this recent chapters are true, he orchestrated everything to happen this way. Obito's Attack of Konoha, Nagato's growth into what he believed to be a God, even his own Edo Tensei reanimation; this only reaffirms my point on Madara's true ideals.
The current world is broken. Dead. Fractured beyond repair. And he believes that in Tsuki no Me, everything will be made right again: the actions of this current world are meaningless, for in Tsuki no Me he is a god.
