Its really annoying, when I look at a thread when I am on forums (like the questions and answer) I click on it.Few seconds ago there was a suggestion about king of the web, when I scroll down I could not answer it because it was closed. What is the point of threads getting closed? Just write a message back, leave it on for 2 min for the thread maker to see and than delete it.Its really timewasting scrolling through the closed threads. Now I know you can see if its closed ect but you can't when your browsing on the forums.

When they close the threads isn't it because the question has been answered or something? o_O otherwise i agree with you xD delete threads instead of closing xD

Disagree. The thread can still be beneficial, but there's no new content to be added, like Questions and Suggestions, or threads that ask a specific question that has been resolved.

I think deleting closed threads cuts your post count if you were to post in said thread.

if the thread helps people then it should stay, if not then it should be removed

It depends on the content, they're most likely there for informational purposes.

For starters we already delete threads in most sections more often than we close them, something people regularly complain about because then they don't know what happened to it. However Q/S threads are a different matter, they get closed because or the question has been answered or the suggestion has been accepted/declined. To avoid people making the same threads, and taking into consideration that one day they might useful, we keep them.

Your reason for deleting them doesn't make much sense as when a thread gets closed, it gets a visible lock on it when you browse the section. Within the thread it's also easily viewable as where normally it says "Reply to Thread" it says that it's closed. The only moment you might not notice it, is when you are browsing the thread just before the moment it's going to be closed or when you browse the entire forums, however then you can only see one thread per section.

If there is a reason to still keep it open, we keep it open. For instance there is no reason to keep this thread open as the suggestion has been declined and can now be used for future reference if someone might ever get the same idea.
