None of this would've happen without Akira Toriyma. He's work was the main inspiration for Naruto and OP. And if it wasn't for him there may not have been a bleach either , after all when shounen jump declined bleach Akira was the one who messaged Tite not give up and keep trying. I mean even today DBZ is the s**t. He's awesome isn't he? :) Lol

akira was like a living god to kishi lol and even his dad who was very strict about games and made kishi study started playing dragon quest series by akira toriayama.I agree dbz deserves more credit because it was what motivated artists of naruto and one piece to make their own manga

Wait...Akira Toriyama is responsible for Bleach and all my pain? My biggest hero? Well, as its him I'll forgive

Akira Toriyama is the God of Manga, all respect to Tezuka but Akira Toriyama is the God, the King and the Emperor, he is untouchable and always will be to me, he is genius packaged in an unassuming Japanese man :x3:

I couldn't care less if Naruto, Bleach and OP never existed.

Just saying.

Yeah, did anyone inspire him? I'm curious if it's been stated, he probably was.

MASASHI KISHIMOTO Interview Part 1

Q: When was the first time that you thought of becoming a mangaka, and why?

Masashi Kishimoto: At some point between second and fourth grade I got into Akira Toriyama Sensei’s Dr. Slump anime and Dragon Ball manga. I loved his characters. I was especially attached to Dr. Slump’s Arale and Dragon Ball’s Goku. Also, his art really appealed to me. There was something about his cartoony drawing style that felt right, more so than realistic drawings. I thought to myself, I want to become like Toriyama Sensei.

You forgot Chimera arc. xd

No one would... Hard to care about something which doesn't exist.

OT: It helped I guess. I hadn't read the manga only watch DBZ for a while. I hated the animation and didn't really like much. But probably at the time it came up it was a novelty for many and it's success lead to inspirations. Other people might have created something better later on but the success of DBZ fueled ambitions in others.

Truth be told!

Akira Toriyama > Masasshi Kishimoto nuff said U_U

He is the base of all these mangas they exist because they sucked juice story from him!
If you look at all these stories protagonist they resemble Goku!

Re: Truth be told!

Yes but DB has very little to no plot and way to often makes very little sense, is inconsistent and only has about 3 to 4 relevant characters

What it has is the nostalgia factor, Goku and Vegeta and the fights

Re: Truth be told!

Dragon ball indeed is a precursor of a new generation of shounen heroes.
