What you have to factor in though is there are mature and immature individuals on the internet just like in everyday life. Two mature people can have a disagreement without disrespecting each other, and can respect the other person for stating there opinion even if it disagrees with yours.

An immature person can't state there opinion without becoming upset, and can't respect others right to an opinion. An immature person let's their ego get in the way and feel they have to prove the other person wrong.

That's were the problem arises. If you don't have to validate that your right, you can have a discussion without it turning into an argument and can just state your opinion without having the need to prove the other person wrong.​
