If you can get passed the overly excessive fan service (I can't stress how this is not something someone can deny) and the repeated friendship idea strengthening people (But that's common in Shonen Anime, like Naruto) Fairy Tail's pretty cool. Started watching a few episodes and it's alright

It's really good. When you're watching it, you'll like it. If you think of how good it is while not watching it (thinking critically) then you'll think it's stupid. I find the fan service really funny at times but I hate if it's during a serious fight, like if a girls clothes are being ripped. Then it just gets weird. Also it has too much comic relief but you get to really like the characters.

I gave up on that series. Excessive fanservice and too many comic reliefs. I like darker stuff.

As someone who is up to date on both the manga and the anime, I say, stick it out. The series does have a lot of comedy and fanservice, but if you can get to the really gorey parts (at least, there is plenty of blood and gore in the manga) then it makes up for the needless chest and butt exposure. Especially in the later arcs, where the fights get incresingly extreme, with a few breaks in tension with some comic relief. Especially a couple of my favourite jokes in the GMG/Dragon Festival arc. FNP and king gag ftw.

The grand magic games arc was so good. But some of the others are really hard to get through
