IMO, Kishi never revived Hiruzen young because the only time he was active in the Manga was in his old age and reviving him younger would have left some people confused.

^ I also predicted this. Hiruzen lacks screen time. With the 4th without any arms, the shodaime and nidame out for the count, only The third and Orochimaru have knowledge of sealing the Kyubbi into naruto. I assume Orochimaru knows how from his numerous research and also because had knowledge of the uzumaki clan. Hiruzen should be a given. Maybe we might even get more edo from Orochimaru, I think he has more up his sleeves. He was able to bring back a sealed Kage including his arms. Not to mention unsealing from the sword of totsuka.

probably. I think he is saving for a more dramatic event. Orochimaru reverse him to his youth and we get to see the hype in action. Maybe he didn't revive him in his youth because the he was scared of his own master at full power?
