Minato is more of a close-range fighter, well, based on what we've seen.

4th is close range

and 5th is perfect close range fighter

Minato-close range, can go to mid
Hiruzen-goes up to all ranges, but mid is his best probably
Tobirama-knows kenjutsu, ftg and has strength, that makes him a really good close range fighter, also suiton can attack from mid and long ranges
Hashirama-All ranges, he had pretty good taijutsu even when he was a child, also mokuton can be probably used in all ranges

Cosindering the scale of Hashirama techniques its hard yo call him mid-range fighter. As for Minato, hes close-range fighter.
