Hopeless
Kyle sat down at his chair next to Anna and straightened out his tie. Immediately Anna reached over with a tissue and began wiping the blood away from a deep cut on his forehead. She always looked after him like this. Kyle didn't mind, he enjoyed having her around, helping him out whenever he's stuck on a test, fixing him up when he looks absolutely awful or covering for him when he's late for school. She's a friend that could brighten some of your darkest days with her smile.
"You should take it easier and try to wake up earlier for once." She said sighing and tutting like she always does.
"I know, I know." Kyle said with a grin on his face as he thought about how he'd barely escaped from his old Land lord but then remembered the old geezer's horrid words before he jumped through the window. His triumphant grin lowered to an unsuccessful frown.
"What's the matter?" Anna whispered into Kyle's ear, bringing him back to the real world.
"Nothing, just thinking about what my Land lord said."
"Judging by the look on your face he didn't say anything nice." She said crumpling up tissue, standing up and tossing it into the bin from across the room. She always was an expert shot.
"He said he's kicking me out then I think he took my keys, ever since I turned bloody sixteen nothing good's been happening. I've had to pay for my rent now but I can't find a job and when I do get an interview the guy just doesn't like me..." Kyle then rambled on while Anna sat there nodding here head.
She felt that she really didn't need to listen because she'd heard it all before, he constantly rambled on about how everything's gone bad for him since the day after his birthday a month ago. She thought Kyle was hopeless and that he couldn't do anything right if he tried but she knows if he really tried he could accomplish anything. She stays with him because she wants to help him because of that time.....
Kyle clicked his fingers in front of Anna's face very quickly. She jumped and almost fell out of her seat she then looked at Kyle, her cheeks slightly red.
"Come back to me Blushies, now where was I...Oh I remember now..." Kyle's sentence was interrupted by his teacher calling out to both of them.
"You two I've marked your tests, Anna you can go ahead, Kyle I'd like to speak with you for a moment" Sir said as he stacked all of the papers but one into a large pile.
Anna and Kyle both stood up and pushed in their chairs. Kyle began to walk up to Sir's desk but was stopped when Anna pulled at his wrist. Kyle turned his head to look over his shoulder at her.
"You can stay over at my house if you like, since you have no place to stay, just until you get back on your feet." Anna mumbled.
"That's great! Thanks Anna" Kyle embraced her in a big hug and didn't notice the red shade on her face get darker. As soon as he let her go she was off faster than a bullet train.
Kyle reluctantly walked up to his teacher's desk and stood there waiting for him to utter a word and break the silence.
"How do you think you did?" His teacher asked looking up at him with a disappointed look on his face.
"Not very well." Kyle sighed.
"You got an F." Sir said handing the paper over to Kyle.
Kyle read his mark and was not pleased with an eleven out of fifty, both his arms dropped to his sides and a depressed look appeared on his face that won't be gone for a while.
"Look, I know life is particularly difficult for you as opposed to everybody else...so let's say I accidentally recorded your mark wrongly into the system..." His sentence was stopped dead by Kyle's look of complete and utter disgust.
"I can't believe you would say that, just because my dad died and I never even had a mother to begin with doesn't mean I should get special treatment!" Kyle was outraged and couldn't help but shouting. He just couldn't stand it so he turned and stomped out of the classroom. Trying to calm himself down on the way out of school. He was staying with Anna tonight so he should be happy.
