Alexandros’ Bluff

As one of the most populous areas of the region Alexandros’ Bluff is also one of the few places where urban dwellings can be found. Most of the inhabitants live in the area’s only town, protected by a great, wooden palisade of sharpened logs. A small port allows the town to transport its meager exports of timber, hides and furs to the outside world. The rest of the area is characterized by its forests, mountains and open plains of snow.

Alexandros' Bluff is a designated Ninja World Marketplace and Independent Bank.

@ZK

Genji would wait upon arriving at the Northenmost Hub, feeling somewhat accomplished, he thought once again about what the skeleton man had said, "The conqueror in the North-North; is this regional hub a steep cliff, or is it just deception? Of where do I speak?"
do you know where this might be?" Genji hadn't thought about it for long before he had pieced it together.. "The conqueror: Alexander... the north, northern most marketplace... steep cliff or deception? A bluff can refer to both cliffs and deception. Now where are you... Cassander Uchiha."

The floating, ghostly skull of Cassander appeared before Genji, looking less than pleased. "So I bet you think you're a smart guy, eh!?" He snapped, glowering. "Well, you thought wrong! That was only the first of my clues, and obviously the first one is the easiest! Even a child could do what you have done, so don't feel good about yourself!" The General's Sharingan eyes spun with anger, but that quickly turned to glee as he broached the topic of the second clue. "The second of the three is as such: Once a beating heart; the beginning and the end, now a light extinguished. Of where do I speak?"

"Then... watch me solve this riddle as well." Genji would say before heading off towards his desired location.

Relieved to be back on land, Isako strode into the port town. He had never been this far north and the cold was bitter and cruel. The scorching deserts of his homeland were a distant memory here, and even the warmth he remembered was chilled by the frosty winds. Isako made his way to the marketplace and picked up a layer of heavy clothing, a jacket lined with fur and heavy boots to shield his feet from the snows. He made sure to inquire to the merchants about any unique items that had passed through recently. His investigation yielded no results, a promising development. Satisfied with his preparations, he departed.

Isako would find no answers in Alexandros' Bluff, at least from the tourists and shoppers in the bustling marketplace. Before him a plume of black smoke manifested into a towering 10 foot man, shrouded in ornate red cloaks. Yet the people surrounding them didn't seem to notice him, their daily activities continued uninterrupted. It was as if they could not perceive his existence, a being outside of their plane of understanding; it left the mysterious man isolated with Isako. "What you hold is Our gift to you. You are our Candidate, oh Champion of the Sunlit Forge. But there is so much you lack, and of such importance. What you hold is but the heart of an ancient weapon that has been emptied of all potency. It is a lifeless husk, a relic of an long forgotten history. Should you seek out a greater purpose then you must power the weapon core." And with that the cloaked man vanished before Isako could even respond.

They would arrive at the marketplace. No longer in danger of thievery here, the wolf would once again become visible and beast would assume the form of man once again.
The Inuzuka would rapidly scan the marketplace, seeking information on the gem that he possessed.
Ling would only need to scan the marketplace for a short period. The hustle and bustle of the environment would quickly be silenced as all of the marketplace visitors were suddenly trapped in what appeared to be a freezing of time, or a stasis of some sorts. Before Ling, a ten foot tall cloaked figure, draped in ornate red robes, would manifest from black smoke. "What you hold is Our gift to you, Kage of Sunlight. You are our Candidate, oh Champion of the Sunlit Forge. But there is so much you lack, and of such importance. What you hold is but the heart of an ancient weapon that has been emptied of all potency. It is a lifeless husk, a relic of an long forgotten history. Stone of Blood and Tears

Storyboard Elements:
-Decipher the riddle left behind by the Mysterious being and complete for first task for powering the ancient weapon. (5)

Summary: Isako has succeeded in finding one of the black gem weapon cores and has been rewarded by a Mysterious being. Another riddle has been left to him as he seeks a way to restore power to the ancient power source.

"Hey...big guy...ya see that shit? Or am I hallucinating?" The mysterious being disappeared as abruptly as it had arrived leaving Isako with more questions than answers, and a slightly heavier coin purse. "Hmph. You see what you've gotten us into? This is no simple hunt for treasure, getting involved with bastards like that can cost us our lives!"

Looking down Isako noticed a piece of parchment left behind. He reached down and collected it, stuffing it into a pocket and moving to a more discrete location before reading it. The words revealed another riddle was to be solved, though this one seemed more strange than the last.

“What you hold is nothing less than a gift from Us. But it is powerless. A husk of something once so bright and dark. It must be powered. In order to do this, you must undertake Our arduous task. Seek out the blood of the guilty, one hundred offerings should suffice. Then purify its essence in the tears of an innocent soul, unharmed by you."
Blood and tears gave the riddle an ominous tone, but perhaps he would see the message in a different light after leaving the dreary cold of the north. With the first leg of his quest complete, it was time to return to the warmth of the mainland and leave behind the cold.

The Inuzuka would nod seriously at the apparitions words. He planned to see this quest through to the end, but first a detour...

Yoru Lands Mugetsu at the market place. Mugetsu reads the instructions again
`this quest will require you to find that specific landmark, travel there, and return to a Marketplace to turn in your quest and receive the next step. `
Turn in where exactly?!?
Once Mugetsu and Yoru lifted their eyes from the instructions that the mysterious man had left, they would notice a very strange sight - the entire marketplace was shrouded in black smoke. From the smoke a figure would manifest, towering at 10 feet in height. He was cloaked in ornate red robes. Metero arrives at Alexandros' Bluff, and enters the urban area inconspicuously as he flits from alleyway to alleyway and rooftop to rooftop - an evasive shadow. It isn't long before he finds the marketplace. With an ominous vibe, Metero looks on at the bustling on goings as shoppers and vendors go about their business.

Now what exactly do I do with this thing?

The busy activities of the marketplace vendors and shoppers continued unabated. Whatever Metero was waiting for seemed that it wouldn't arrive. Only the sound of the commoners permeated the area, going about their daily lives as if nothing was out of place at all.

(Incorrect core location. You have infinite chances though, so get back out there if you want to give it another shot)

Nana arrived at the local marketplace, its trading and people always busy as usual. There seemed to be a strange aura in the air, like unseen eyes around, or at least a strange feeling like something had been here before. But everything else and everyone in the marketplace seemed normal to Nana. Looking around for a jeweller, she went to see if the rock she found was worth anything.

It seemed that Nana had arrived empty handed. Or rather, what she held was not the Weapon Core she hoped it to be. Another had been crowned Tenth Champion of the Sunlit Forge. No one would arrive to answer her questions. Her inquiries were met with mere silence.

(Your answer is correct. However Pyro NB claimed the Weapon Core at the landmark roughly 1 hour before you did. In order to successfully claim it, you needed to steal it from him.)

This post marks the start of my mission including the following storyboard element:
  • Settle a dispute and reach a compromised (4)
Summary:
While in the marketplace, Nana sees a fight break out and steps in to stop it. While she could easily force the men to stop, she tries using words and compromise to solve the problem.

Nana was browsing through the markets when she heard a cry for help, there was some commotions coming from ahead. Some kind of crowd had gathered around to see what was going on and as she approached closer, she could see a market stall go flying out above the crowd. Before it could crash down and hurt anyone, she leapt into action bouncing foward and up, catching it safely as the crowd gasped as she caught the market stall. Placing it down and moving forward she had a better view as the crowd parted showing two older men fighting one on the ground the other on top of him punching his face. Nana was in shock that two of her villagers could break down into a fight in the middle of market but then again she had been going on for such a while that she had no idea the state of what her people were in.
Nana moved forward picking up both men by the collar and pulling them apart, one bloody and dripping over his face from the bleeding with the other having sweat dripping from his brow as she tried to understand what was going on. Nana could easily forcefully hold them apart but that wouldnt stop their fighting once she let them go, something serious had happened here, and Nana needed to use her words to cool the situation and reach a compromise if there was one.

What has happened here? Why are you two fighting in the the middle of the market?

They barely spoke just scowling at each other while the one with the blood dripping from himself spat out towards the other, flecks of blood spraying over Nana's glove.

This coward attacked me from behind, he just wants to hurt me.

Ha! You pick my pocket and think I couldnt tell it was you?

The two men started arguing, insults and profanities being thrown back and forth. Nana sighed, her duties as a Kage werent to babysit children but as this land was under her protection and she was here, she had to intervene, as she vowed to protect all her citizens. The only issue was that she was used to protecting them from other threats, not themselves. She had to solve this without resorting to violence or fighting and using her fists.

Lets start from the beginning here, from what I can gather, you think he pick pocketed and stole something from you so you attacked him from behind?

She looked towards the man sweaty and dusty, somewhat wet and covered in the ice, her right hand holding him back.

Yeah, except I don't think he did, I know he did!

Nana looked towards the other man and asked him gently,

Did you pick pocket him?

He burst out almost as immediately as she finished.

I didnt do anything! All I did was trip and accidentally bump into him then he turns around and punches me!

Nana wondered what to do. She couldn't accuse either of them for lying, each man had their line. Nana thought hard about what her council would do and how they would handle this dispute. This wasnt her forte, she was used to solving problems by physically stopping them.
She screamed inside her head.

Taking a deep breath she spoke a little louder to gain the attention of each man.

ENOUGH! What did he take from you?

I didn't-

Nana shot him a dark look saying

Quiet.

Looking back to the sweaty thicker gentleman she didnt change her look, giving him a dark expectant look.

Well-

He reached to his coinpurse pulling it out and tipping it upside down

He took all my money! And look, am I holding anything? I havent bought anything yet!

Nana spoke quietly but her words could be heard by everyone that had gathered.

We have no way of knowing if you had anything in there to start with.

Her eyes darted back to the bloodied mans waist who has a medium size sack tied to his belt, clearly carrying some coinage.

While the evidence is circumstantial, and with no witnesses here, we cant assume that you had any coin to begin with, despite the obvious fact that he may have coin on him.

She paused, knowing that this aggravater wouldnt be happy with this.

So what?? I am just robbed and nothing is done about it? This is rubbish!!

Nana sighed, she didnt know how to deal with this squabble, she felt like just leaving them be, but she decided against it.

You have no proof that he actually took your money so youre so quick to dish out punishment? Perhaps I should punish you for assaulting this man as well? Youre not getting away with causing harm to another citizen.

It was then the colour drained from his face as he thought about what was happening, potentially being punished for trying to stand up for himself. Nana knew the feeling too well. Upon becoming Kage she had to reel back how much she used to fight first and worry about the consequences later. Now with all of the lands eyes upon her, she had to be the example for everyone, but also to prove to herself that she could be the leader they needed. This was the first step.

All I want to do is go home, I feel dizzy....

Nana was worried she may have gotten there too late as she looked towards the bloodied man, looking white as a sheet underneath the caked blood. She had to solve this fast before he passed out and to rush him to the medics or hospital.
She was starting to panic, hoping that the murmuring around the crowd wasnt about her inability to solve this simple problem.

She didnt want to reward the man for assaulting the innocent untill proven guilty man, by giving him any money which he might have made up in the first place.
Then an idea sprung to mind. Something her sensei gave to her when ever she broke rules.

Because you have assaulted a man, you will need to pay a fine for the damages caused. What ever he stole from you, you will pay.

She turned to the crowd and asked them;

Do you, the witnesses to this incident find this punishment acceptable?

There was a general murmur of agreement with a few disapproving boo's but at overall there was agreement coming from the crowd.

Wh- No! Thats not fair!

You assaulted a man without proof and harmed one of your own. You tried to be judge jury and executioner and will be punished.

The crowd started to disperse as one of the police came forward, seemily hiding while Nana took care of the problem.

We can take it from here ma'am. We also have a medic here to take the young man to the hospital.

Nana nodded to the officer, as a medic in a green jumpsuit walked past. She let out a breath she didnt know she was holding while they took him away and Nana started to walk onwards. She had hoped that she had handled the problem well, or at least to the best that she could have. Surely months ago she would have just walked away or punched both of them and let the police sort it out. But now as the Kage, she needed to be respected and not feared, to show leadership and to show wisdom as well. This was the first step.

A power predating that of the Sage? I've never heard of anyone who could claim such. Yoru pondered.
Me?!? Mugetsu exclaimed.
Right
I will send you back to the nothing I pulled you out of
Yoru rolls his eyes, Regardless, let's look at this over here "Seek out the blood of the guilty, one hundred offerings should suffice. Then purify its essence in the tears of an innocent soul, unharmed by you." It says. Any ideas?
I might have an idea

Taking a moment to herself, Nana creates 4 clones with the intent of them going out into the ninja world. They hop through the window and leave for other landmarks.

Kage Bunshin no Jutsu) - Shadow Clone Technique
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20 (total chakra is divided by the final number of clones plus the user)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and himself and creates a real copy with form and substance. The clones, a max number of 4, are capable of performing techniques on their own and can even bleed, but will usually disperse after hit by a strong enough force, returning 10% of its individual chakra to the user. Shadow clones can't be distinguished from the original with Sharingan, Byakugan, Rinnegan or normal Chakra Sensing. The clone itself can also utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.
