My eyes lighten up upon hearing the background information on the technique I would be learning.
Thank you Sensei, and also.. WOAH! I can't wait to fully 'master' this technique!
As the clone began to run towards me, I got into a very defensive stance, by spreading out my legs shoulder width apart. In that same motion, I shifted my right foot slightly ahead of my left one. However while doing so, I placed most of my weight onto my left foot, allowing my right one to be lightweight and fast for any possible changes in stance. As the clone nears my location, I point the tip of my blade behind me, near the left-hand side of my body, utilizing my right hand to wield the katana. As I held the blade in that position, I slowly moved my left arm out and over my right arm in order to shoulder it from any potential threats, having the hand opened, utilizing the palm to guard the elbow area, the most important joint in kenjutsu, or one of them. With the stance set in motion, I began to channel chakra into and through my blade. I utilized my previous knowledge of wind nature manipulation as well as lightning manipulation in regards to weapon enhancements. With those points in mind, I began to compress my chakra around my blade, causing the chakra to actually become visible. As I notice the chakra successfully 'manifesting' I swiftly swing my blade from left to right, delivering a horizontal slash. As the blade was being swung, I transferred all of my weight onto my right foot in order to increase the strength of my swing as I rotated my hips in unison, adding more force to my swing. While all of that was happening, I simultaneously release the concentrated outwards in the form of a wide crescent projectile wave. The mere concentration of chakra would cause it's regular transparent blue color to turn crimson red. The wave of chakra is aimed to slash into the clone's abdominal section. Upon releasing, I fluidly shed my katana as I then perform the bird hand seal and manipulate the earth beneath the target's area. This in turn would allow me to rise countless spikes of earth all throughout the area and it's short range, reducing the possibilities of outrunning the wave with ease. This would also ensure straight on blitz to be harder to do.
That was... AWESOME! Now it's time to analyze it a bit. Hmm.. weak points.. as you stated it is a ranged technique so it can easily be dodged. I would say this technique is best used in close combat when they are not expecting it, or simply for a swift defense if your sword is already drawn. Chances are, if you simply release it on a whim, it will be countered with ease. I would most likely utilize this as a set up technique, either binding or tripping my opponent before or after releasing it. A plus of course is that it's one of the only ranged techniques I've learned, thus increasing the versatility of it's usage. Also, it doesn't rely on a large combination of movements to fully complete.
