Alastair is cruel, he enjoyed dishing out pain to others. The more pain he could cause the happier he was, not just physical pain, he is equally capable at giving mental torture and stress, he was also reasonable patient, criticizing Kumogakure shinobi's, stating that young demons were always so impatient and willing to run into things.
As well as enjoying dishing out pain, Alastair also enjoyed taking it, showing he was masochistic, he seemed to enjoy being tortured, almost as much as he enjoyed torturing others, however even he had a limit to how much he could take.

Background Info.
History:
It was a dark night. The darkest night of the year. A small baby of about 5 years of age seemed a pretty hard figure to notice. Crawling..dragging.. the poor creature tried his best to make his way to the lighted house. Getting near to the cottage, he heard laughter, music .. people. Peeping through the wax windows, he could see about 10 people circling around to have dinner. The sight of the food sent his stomach rumbling like the lightning above. Trying to avoid being seen, he slowly started to creep past the house and into the horse stable. He lay low and slowly drifted into sleep..
*Alastair! Run.. Run...!! I'll be back.. Just don't look behind.. Move!!*
Gasping for air, Alastair woke up from his nightmare. Looking around, he saw a strange looking man cleaning the wounds on his leg. Suprised and scared, Alastair stared at the man while unable to take words out of his mouth.
"You're up... Boy, you've been in bad shape lately.. War Victim?"
Alastair still couldn't manage to speak. He aimlessly stared at the man's eyes looking as if he expected a reply form them.
"Oh, I get it. Hey, I'm Zero Kelvin and you? ^_^"
Slowly Alastair found his words..
"Oh..um.. I'm Alastair..and.. I'm kind' of looking for my parents"
Zero looked sympathetically over the boy as he handed him some food. Alastair extended his hands and thankfully ate.
"You're one hungry Kid.. So, where are you from? You're parents?"
"I'm from Amegakure and well, my parents are form Amegakure too.. But they are in the war so they told me to run.. and..all that I can remember of"
Zero smiled at the kid while dreading what happened to his parents. Making a mental note, he tried cheering up the boy.
"You're not alone, trust me"
Alastair glared at Zero in a sarcastic way. Thinking it was the wrong way, Zero decided to take up a responsibility.
"We're in this together.. You're my Apprentice from now!"
Not knowing what to say, Alastair simply nodded and followed Zero to the rest of the journey. Many incidents came..went.. but they always stayed together, until the very day. He also made fellows like Severus, Cookie, Teno, Broly, Natan, Oasis, Haku, Erzo, Scaze, McRzor, Baldy, Lord of Kaos, Coyote, Light, -Castiel- and had several respected figures like Scorps, Dante, Riku, Zanji, Hellsbadass, Alucard and The Pervy Sage.
Now, a leaf Shinobi, Alastair does his duties to the fullest while still searches the truth about his parents.
