It's okay haha.. I want to learn wind because it's a powerful element, as demonstrated by many fight threads i've seen and it's proven. Wind is very versatile, being able to combine with many other elements in combination jutsus. Also, Wind is very good against an opponent of mine, it's one of the two elements he doesn't know, making it very useful against him.

I think that wind can be used in battle to twist in a tornado, maybe send the enemy flying from a jet of air released from your hands, maybe to make blades of air that slice up the enemy, many ways
Ah, yes. The keypoint there being "slicing". Since wind tends to be rather versatile, there are many ways to use it creatively, just like the Kekkei Genkais, Shadow, Wood, and Sand.

Wind is weak to fire, since wind only strengthens fire. Wind is also strong against lightning techniques(idk why i just remember seeing that on that chakra strength/weakness diagram.) Wind combines with Fire to make a stronger fire jutsu, which was used by Kakuzu. Wind also combines with water (an example is the water/wind combination used by Naruto and Yamato to counter the above fire/wind combination jutsu)

*i take the leaf from you and put it between the folds of my palm. Then, i focus my chakra into my palm encasing the leaf in it. I then picture the leaf slicing in half over and over again, until it's really all i'm thinking about. After i've concentrated, i then send another surge of chakra into my palms, and then i open my hand, holding out the results* How did I do?
So far, so good. The leaf is nearly cut - remember when we went through what Wind could do? Good job with the focus and concentration.
Try again - practice makes nearly perfect. Don't get distracted.

Then i focus a large amount on chakra into that palm, and then i picture the slicing of the leaf repeatedly. then i focus chakra even more, and then I put a large amount of chakra into my palm, and i open my palm. I then hold out the results* I did better i think!

I can learn up to B.
*i manipulate my newly found wind chakra into the ground, and pull it towards me. Then i clump it together into a solid-ish mass and direct my chakra to make it move upward. Then I direct my chakra to send the chakra controlled sand crashing into the tree.*
Is this similiar to Gaara's technique(besides the Ultimate Defense) in any way?

Not exactly. This is less powerful, and mainly uses the force of the air.
So let's say I toss some kunais towards you, and you use this jutsu at me, sending a whole clump of wind and sand at me.

Picture it as a sort of huge and loud deadly force. Although this jutsu is rather slow since it takes time to gather sand, it can be used during battle to repel a LOT of Kunais away.
Please keep this in mind. Although Wind is loud and wide, it is the main force for countering projectiles.
This next jutsu also gathers on the first one.
I want you now to begin sending your chakra to the air around you and begin spinning it as a shield over your body. Make sure to keep steady control of the acceleration. In a few moments, when I see that you have maintained of this jutsu, I will then toss kunais at you to see if it is strong enough. Also, keep in mind that it needs to be accelerating at a speed fast enough to also push back basic Taijutsu.
Picture it as a sort of huge and loud deadly force. Although this jutsu is rather slow since it takes time to gather sand, it can be used during battle to repel a LOT of Kunais away.

Sounds cool... *I focus my wind chakra into the air in front of my body. I then send this mass of chakra filled air into rotation using chakra control, and increase the speed of the rotation. Then I increase the speed of the rotation more.* Fast enough to block anything?

And it seems that it is indeed strong enough to block against Taijutsu. However, let us say that I toss a few explosive kunai at your wall.

it would amplify the explosion, probably wounding me if i were near it. That's the flaw of this technique. Do i have to try again?
