Yeah, schools a drag, but I finished my last final on friday, so thankfully I'm all done! ^^
As for the question, I would like to learn Ninjutsu because, as you said, it's extremeley important in a fight (lol). I think ninjutu would be useful to have under my arsenal in a battle due to it's overall usefulness. Using ninjutsu allows you to do things that are completely impossible for a regular human, whether it be cloning yourself or using a rasengan. It also will help me to better understand chakra control and give me an overall better knowledge of jutsu.
Two more weeks till school ends...and I'm currently scaring myself crazy with watching Amensia videos on YouTube while procrastinating on a huge literature packet...
Anyhow...
Excellent reply. As said to most people I have trained so far, I wouldn't like anything they learn to go down the drain and becoming meaningless. Although, this doesn't happen very often with Ninjutsu, as you mentioned, that Shadow Clones are a major part of the art. I would dub this particular factor of jutsus "the helpful ones".
Alright, without further ado, let's begin with the very first ones.
Come over and search the bag next to me. Try finding the two huge shurikens from them and take them out. Study them first.
Now, try fitting those two together behind one another's shadow and then throwing it at this Shadow Clone besides me one after the other, the first hiding the second.
If he is able to see the second shuriken you've hidden behind the first, then he will defend against both. Try and make sure both is hidden within one another.
I don't know how people stand watching scary movies/playing games like amnesia. If I do something like that my imagination drives me INSANE for a while.. .-.
*I walk over to your bad and rummage through it, finding the pair of large shuriken you mentioned. I judge the weight of the shuriken in my hand and then walk to a midrange from you clone. I set the shuriken on the ground and begin practicing two gestures.
The first is a dramatic gesture of the type that you would expect an anime character to throw a shuriken. I move my arm from behind my back into a position so that is pointing straight into the air. The second of the two is a far more subtle version of the first, I simply move my forearm and jerk my wrist with my arm held slightly to the right of my body. The idea of the two gestures is so that the opponent would subconciously register that that is how I would throw my shuriken, thus not noticing a far more subtle approach of throwing the shuriken, although in essence, the throws are identical, the first merely has some theatrics involved.
I then pick up the two shuriken. One I hold in my right hand, while the other I have in my left hand, which is slightly behind my back, with the shuriken tilted at an angle so that the clone won't see it. I then throw the first shuriken in the exagerrated motion and then subtley hand the second shuriken off behind my back and perform the second gesture with it, and I successfully manage to make it mirror the first's trajectory and speed.*
Yeah...I'm actually kind of scared to step into the water right now...I hate it too, yet it's so weirdly addicting at the same time, but the downside is me scaring the crap out of myself on bed at night every day...
Excellent. Frankly, that is about one of the most detailed explanation I have seen in awhile, labeling every gesture and keeping the enemy's reaction in mind. I am quite amazed. By your notions of carefully hiding the second shuriken within the first, I'm certain that you already realize the significance of the second shuriken.
However, you could you explain the important role it plays in this jutsu?
The only scary game I ever played was deadspace, alone in my room at around 2:00 at night. I have a feeling my reactions would have been helarious to watch whenever something jumped out. xd
Thanks, and sure, the second of the shuriken is probably the more important of the two. The first is merely a distraction. The intention is they see a shuriken coming towards them and try a simple solution such as blocking it with a kunai. This way after successfully blocking the first shuriken, the second would immediately spike them in the chest.
Although, seeing as my opponent would know I used this jutsu, I'm sure that they would do something that would 'coincidentally' block both shuriken, such as blasting wind at them or something.
Oh, and you should see some of Sharingdork's posts in his training threads. They get quite long. o.o
Oh, good God. Dead Space. I didn't mind it, but the gore was too much at times.
Excellent. The keyword there is "distraction". This jutsu tends to be more of a surprise factor, as I am sure you know by now that catching your enemy off guard gives you an enormous advantage, in the world around you and battles here. Good work.
That is why this a D-Rank Jutsu, but would prove well in use for Taijutsu attacks. Or you could definitely combo it with another surprise jutsu. Seeing that you said that...does Minato tend to ask you such questions on how to defend against it during a battle?
(Kage Shuriken no Jutsu) - Shadow Shuriken Technique
Rank: D
Type:Attack
Range:Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points:20
Description: Kage Shuriken no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing a giant Windmill Shuriken. When throwing the shuriken, the ninja will also throw a second giant shuriken to hide in the shadow of the first. The hidden secondary shuriken can then approach the target without their being aware.
Anyhow, congratulations on your first Ninjutsu.
We shall now be moving on.
This next one is also quite simple to figure out - however, you will need a little knowledge on the effects of the weapons. Take this umbrella.
Does it look like a normal one to you?
However, if you look closely, this umbrella contains countless needles within it, that can be spun out and utilized/controlled with chakra to hit opponents.
Now try jumping up with it, focusing your chakra through the object, and releasing the needles to hit that rock nearby. Remember to think about the significance and positions of each of the needles.
And well, last I taught Sharingdork, like five months ago, he wasn't that wordy...but people do get a bit sophisticated after being taunted and doted on in this website.
*I take the umbrella and examine it, finding the needles you mention. I walk over to a mid range from the walk and begin experimenting with the umbrella a bit. I hold the umbrella over my head and flow my chakra into the umbrella a bit and give it a twirl. A round of needles shoot out from the umbrella with little control, but after travelling a few meters they fall to the ground. After doing a little more experimenting I find that the umbrella will only dislodge the needles to be launches if chakra is flowed into a specific fold.
I then practice controlling the needles more with my chakra as they exit the umbrella, making sure that the flow is powerful enough for them to keep going at a consistant and high speed.
I hold the umbrella and jump into the air and flow my chakra up the side of the umbrella that is facing the rock. I then begin twirling the umbrella, but keep my chakra flowing into the section of the umbrella that is facing the rock at any given moment. (I hope I'm being clear with what I'm trying to do here.) I have my chakra push the needles forcefully out of the umbrella to provide the nessecary speed and aiming precision needed. The needles exiting the umbrella follow a slightly curved path and hit the rock, leaving the front side of it spiked full of needles, resembling a porcipine.*
That was indeed very clear. Nice imagery - I could picture your chakra flow through that umbrella. Excellent job with the aiming and the precision. Now, study each of the needles a bit, and tell me, what effects might it deliver on a human body?
I'm sure you know acupuncture, and the effects it can deliver with a single needle.
With a general knowledge of anatomy and what not, a shinobi would be able to use these needles to hit pressure points on their oppponents body. The opponent would be disabled in different ways depending on which points were hit. Some points may put their enemy in an almost death-like stage of unconciousness, like Haku did to Zabuza. Other points may puncture into the right areas of certain muscles and render an entire section of the body immovable.
Correct. There are several main vital points on the body, which can provide instant kill, paralysis, or temporary Death-state, as you mentioned above. Excellent description as usual.
(Jouro Senbon) - Sprinkling Needles
Rank: C
Type:Attack
Range:Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points:30
Description: After hurling their umbrella into the air, the user will unleash a torrent of needles. Using their chakra they can guide these needles towards their opponent.
Alright. Let us move on.
Look up into the sky for me now.
You see those crows? I want you to call upon them with your chakra and then attack my clone. As they attack him, try and go hide somewhere without me noticing.
The only way I can think to do this may be a bit unorthodox, but it should work.
*I glance up at the sky and see the crows. I extend my chakra up towards them, and manipulate it so that it leaves a trail to your clone. Once this trail is complete, I project my chakra so that it will, to them, smell like a rotting animal carcass. (Crows are scavengers, and thus would be attracted to this.)
As the scent reaches the crows, they follow my chakra to your clone in the hopes of finding lunch. When they reach your clone, they are at first confused and begin flying around your clone, however, after a few seconds of flying around, the smell overwhelms them and they begin pecking at your clone, and doing other minor annoyances which would distract you.
I notice one of the crows begin to make an attempt to peck at your eyes, (crows are known to do this), so I take this oppurtunity to gather chakra into my feet, and propel myself to the right, where I dart behind a tree.
As the crow abandons the attempt on your clones eye, your clone looks to where I was and sees that I have escaped.*
I may have been a little vague in my explanation of how to do the jutsu, for that, I apologize.
Very creative with the idea of creating the smell of a rotten carcass, however, one can't exactly judge the time that would take, so fully taking over the minds of the crow (as your chakra would most likely overpower theirs') might be more efficient.
You also hit the point with aiming for the eyes. As that is a vital way we gather information, making an enemy would definitely disable them greatly during a battle.
Great job.
Satsujin Konmei no Karasu) - Murder of Crows Confusion
Rank: C
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short-Long
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points:N/A
Description: Calling upon a swarm of crows, they will fly around the target, causing confusion with their dark forms and quick movement. With the target distracted by the crows, the ninja can strike more easily. Also the mass of crows can obscure any retreating ninja. When no longer needed, the murder of crows will simply puff away in smoke.
Anyhow, let us move on. We'll be learning a rather famous jutsu now.
Start by focusing upon an image of yourself. Then form the Tiger handseal and send your chakra out your body to create a clone of yourself. Make sure it turns out solid and also, please be careful on how much chakra you give the clone.
*I close my eyes and imagine myself standing in our training field. I then duplicate myself in my mind's eye so that there are two of me in the field. While picturing this mental image I form the Tiger handseal, and begin focusing my chakra into the shape of my body. I conctrate hard on the visual aspect of this at first, making sure that the image of myself will be perfectly identical to the real me, down to the last freckle.
After getting the imagery perfect, I begin to mold my chakra so that the clone will become solid. I make sure that the chakra isn't just a shell, and that it actually is set up like the chakra system of a true human, with chakra lines woven intricately all throughout it's body so that the clone is able to manipulate the chakra I give it and use jutsu.
After all this is done, I release the chakra and bring forth my clone. I then open my eyes and look at myself.*
Ah, indeed. But imagine, all the wonders if it can do for you! "Clone, go do all my math homework while I take a nap!"
Joking, but great work with the chakra manipulation. This also comes into hand as you need to often communicate with one another and give commands.
Off the top of your head, how might you think Shadow Clones come in handy during a battle?
It seems the obvious answer would be that it allows you to use multiple jutsu at the same time, which would be used to create powerful combinations such as a fire and wind combo.
Another advanatge is their ability to collect information for you. For example, when under a technique similar to the hidden mist jutsu, sending your clones running while you hide underground, can allow you to gather large ammounts of information, without placing yourself in any risk.
But I think the biggest advantage of shadow clones is, if positioned correctly, they can eliminate blindspots. This would become extremely handy against an opponent who enjoys hiding underground, or somehow becoming invisible. If it's you alone, your blind spot is around is around 160-170 degrees behind your back, however if you use three clones and position one directly behind your back, one slightly off to the left facing you, and one off to the right facing you, you would have succesfully eliminated all of your blind spots.
Excellent, comboing. By being able to use several deadly jutsus at once, one could guarantee a quick Death for an enemy.
Information collecting, yes.
Blind spots. That is also another reason why people in battle carefully place their clones in different positions when they summon them. Excellent observation.
I will post for you some other reasons.
First: Clones can perform various attacks all at the same time as you said. Indeed, imagine if you had four clones in front of you all release different jutsus at you at the exact moment. Dangerous, no?
Second (as you labeled): It is hard to tell the difference between the real you and clones. Only the Sharingan is able to tell such differences, or normally, people just godmode this in battle.
Third: Being able to combo greatly with split-second jutsus - imagine seeing several attacks coming at you at all directions.
Fourth: Distraction in general - for example, a clone used Thunder Up, and caused an explosion, the enemy will be drawn to the noise and you could then take advantage of this.
Fifth: Release of Genjutsu.
Sixth: Sacrifice for information.
Seventh: Increase of field of vision. As you mentioned, blind spots.
Eight: Human Shield.
Thanks for the advice. It hadn't really occurred to me to use my clones as a distraction or a human sacrifice. I suppose my ideology would be to protect their exhistance as long as possible, so that the chakra used to create the clones doesn't go to waste.
Oh, and is this as far as ninjutsu goes for my rank?
I am actually not sure. And yes, I always try and execute this move first in a battle, since it also does give you "extra lives" in a manner. For some reason, chakra count isn't very emphasized on battles here, just letting you know.
I am actually not sure.
(Kage Bunshin no Jutsu) - Shadow Clone Technique
