Akatsuki's Oath

Nagato forming Akatsuki to achieve his goal of World Peace was a boss move, All the members had to be loyal and never to reveal anything, the only way out of Akatsuki was to kill yourself, hence the reason why every member that has died, all killed themselves themselves: :scorps:

1. Nagato(Revived Konoha)
2. Itachi(poisoned himself)
3. Konan(Tobi made her commit suicide in the genjutsu)
4. Kisame(Most honorable)
5. Sasori(overwhelmed by past actions)
6. Orochimaru(Kills himself every time he sheds a body)
7. Deidara( C0)
8. Yahiko

.. with the except of Hidan and Kakuzu

With the Akatsuki as his Body gaurds, Nagato is untouchable, can't even get close to em because of his Rinnegan, not to mention the 7 Bijuu in his Gedo Mazo.

Could any Village even come close? Could any Shinobi really stop all of them? Dead or Alive?

Some of the facts you list are wrong.

But even if they were correct, none of them chose their deaths (okay except Nagato). They all died because they were beaten badly.

Also I remember clearly Orochimaru and Kabuto being in Akatsuki and then leaving and continuing their perverted zombie/pedo experiments
