Re: Akame ga Kill! Manga Chapter 64 Discussion and 65 Prediction

Nice way to set-up the fight IMO :D

Also, I wonder if the secret technique akame was referring to has anything to do with the one she used to kill esdeath (in the anime). I know the ending of the anime is completely original but If I remember correctly, the author basically confirmed that everything that happened in the anime was gonna happen in the manga too so heh, who knows :D

Oh, and hum wave x kurome? That was a nice touch I guess.

4.5/5. A bit bummed out that the fight didn't happen (or at least start) but overall, it was still a very nice set-up chapter ^^

Re: Akame ga Kill! Manga Chapter 64 Discussion and 65 Prediction

Akame's Trump Card may be similar to the anime one, but I don't remember there being any implications of her possibly losing herself to the demon completely in the anime. Well, maybe I just forgot, but I don't think she asked anyone to get ready to kill her in case of that happening.

I do like where this is going with the danger from Teigu (we'll see what happens if Wave indeed tries to use two). Also, classic Esdeath, just killed that guy so nonchalantly.

And I guess MS's translators are on their own, because I saw "Natara" there instead of Natala (and Ran instead of Run, for that matter).

Another thing is, it really is sad how Kurome wants to enslave Akame and live with her "normally". I get her wanting to keep her comrades alive (when they are already dying), but in Akame's case, Kurome just wants to be with her, but she is too twisted to even try to make peace.

Oh and I suppose it's this time again *looks for her Ran avas/sigs* How do I actually keep losing them :shy:

After all, he's going to finally, er, die die in the next chapter or two, right?

"If two teigu users fight, both with killing intent, one of them is certain to die."

I can't help but think that Kurome is going to die soon :/ When she kissed Wave, to me it felt like she set him up to forever regret being unable to stop her from leaving on that day. Assuming Kurome does die, depending on whether or not Wave actually makes it to their fight, Yatsufusa might end up being his second teigu (though that's just my own wold speculation).

I doubt Wave would want to use Yatsufusa, given his reactions to it (or the reanimations, anyway) so far - unless, of course, he gets really desperate and/or twisted. Remember, Bulat said that you basically need to like the Teigu in order to be compatible with it.

True, I thought the same at first. Then I remembered Najenda's reference to Tatsumi's "maturation" since he first joined Night Raid and how living in that kind of darkness can change a person.

I'm under the impression that Wave is just now realizing the true depth of his feelings towards Kurome; that's why I thought that her death might push him over the edge and into the arms of depravity, leading him to possibly accept and hold onto Yatsufusa as a memento hers.

Maybe, but a major point of Kurome's character is that she fears losing comrades so much she wishes to keep them around even as corpses (seriously, that talk about wanting to live with them normally was just sad). Even if Wave takes Yatsufusa as a memento, I'm not sure that even Kurome's death would be enough to get him into a state like that (he's been pretty sane so far). If anything, I could see him wanting Kurome (and Ran, for that matter) to rest in peace.

...But then again, who knows, maybe we'll see him take Yatsufusa and reanimate Kurome and oh my

So far this seems to be mirroring the anime perfectly, but I really don't want Kurome to die, even though it looks inevitable. Wave thought he'd broken through, and then she starts talking crazy again. I really like how he genuinely and desperately wants to do something for her, while Kurome's time is visibly ticking away, but he's just powerless. Not a lot of characters can make me actually feel their desperation, so I truly appreciated the way this was made.

Hopefully a miracle happens and Akame doesn't kill her sis.

Yeah, it's exactly this that makes it so tragic.

Yeah, with all the flaws/laziness in his writing, one of the things Takahiro does well (IMO) is character psychology. The way they react to trauma, the way they interact etc. (apart from the harem aspect at least). Notice how they don't forget their fallen comrades and bring them up when it makes sense (as opposed to, say, just friendship powerups)? Their deaths are actually influential.

This was the part that really got to me. When Wave said "don't make me beg..." >_<

It's like he's implicitly asking her to try and live for him, if for nothing else.
