I never believe in the hype, but I prefer longer fights, especially in a fighting manga. It's not really exciting when characters go down in a few panels :|

Have you ever watched anything outside of Naruto or AgK? If you have, you would have noticed that many authors can hype things up and make the things live up to their hype. So no. Not only idiots believe in hype. It's just that this author is so incapable of keeping power level consistencies and gives out false information every time it's not related to his waifu, Esdeath. In fact, the same people who hyped up Esdeath also hyped up Budo. One of them lived up to the hype. The other didn't because ''lol fuk u, Esdeath is my waifu, not Budo''.

The fact that this author hypes shit up, but kills said thing in a time span of one or two panels without creating a proper fight to at least give some shine time to the character since he hyped them up shows you that this author is completely incompetent in writting and doesn't know how to keep power levels consistent.

This author is a hack and the matter of power level inconsistencies is a relatively minor problem. Not a single good thing could be picked out of this manga that could be called good writting in any shape or form and that's not even exaggerating it.

While it's true that some characters in AgK had the worst hype-to-feats/paneltime ratio, hype is still usually an exaggeration/hyperbole, which is why I'm always skeptical about it. I mean, I might love Ran but I refuse to believe that Divine Wings reflect literally everything, etc.
