So ... first watch this amv ->
to understand my theory.
So , aizen plan was all about Ichigo's hollow side for now... that was all we know , right?
the one who gave ichigo the hollow powers was Aizen , now ... why's that , hmm... that's the question.
So , lets recap.Aizen test his experiments (hollows) on other ppl , right? some experiments fail , some are still in process , some are completed... such as ichigo...
ichigo still has the hollow part inside him , why ... maybe bc he inherit it from his mom... and bc of plot ofc.
why does he still has it ? because aizen plan in the first place was to steal from ichigo , if you watched that amv , then you read the first part of the amv , aizen told ichigo to get angry and to attack him aggressivly with anger , right?
and what does anger gives to him? it gives him the hollow power , the VASTO LORDE and that VASTO LORDE is what aizen wants , maybe he wants to fuse together with his butterfly aizen to surprass the soul king.
we (readers from the manga) know for a fact that the soul king is the exact same thing as butterfly aizen , if not after he defeated urahara , yoruichi and isshin , his white protective mask was removed and we saw his eyes , like... purplish... i guess that in reality the eyes of the soul king are the same as that...
so lets say that aizen conquers his plan of getting the vasto lorde side of ichigo , what will happen to ichigo after that happens? he'll die. and then aizen would try to unleash his power that he got from hollow ichigo and maybe he would break the soul king palace? and also maybe he would get the power to see the future?
the part where aizen failed , was that he didn't predicted ichigo being fused with vasto lorde ichigo , that's why he passed him. yes , you can say that aizen also was an vasto lorde and he was fused with his sword , but why do you think that he wanted ichigo to get angry?
plus , you have in the amv and in the series kubo foreshadowing what aizen wanted in the first place , everything says vasto lorde / hollow ichigo in it...
