A lot of people speculate that Corazon used Ageless Surgery to save Law's life, and that's why Law is alive today despite having a life span of less than 3 years left. However, this is obviously not the case for 2 main reasons.

For one, Doflamingo wants to kill Law, and ordered Vergo to brutally kill Law. This proves Law is mortal, so him having eternal life is impossible.

The second indication is the name of the technique, Ageless Surgery. Ageless. Meaning, the affected wouldn't age anymore, they are now ageless. Corazon died 13 years ago, meaning, at the most, Law would have the body of a 13 year old. Law clearly isn't a 13 year old, even by OP standards, so there's a constant physical indicator that Law isn't ageless.

There's no way Corazon used Ageless Surgery on Law.

He's immortal in the sense that he will not die of disease or health or age, but he can be murdered still

I read it as "Perrenial Youth" technique which basically keeps them young, not ageless

What has eternal youth to do with not being able to die?
The surgery allows u to live forever.. but it's stupid to think one can't be killed by weapons or fire or anything else besides a natural death. Otherwise it would not be called the 'ageless operation'

But I agree it was no used on him.

Where was eternal youth ever said?

Eternal life is immortality. If something is eternal, it never ends, it can never be brought to a finishing point under any circumstance. Don't complain about how MangaPanda did such a horrible job translating and how you're waiting for ***********, then go with the MP version over the MS version because you want what you think to be true.

lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning.
"the secret of eternal youth"

No that's not right
ageless surgery means the person said can't die a natural death anymore
he can still die any other way because of steel etc
honestly i'm not going to argue ..u really think One Piece would introduce something as real immortality...?
Also mangafox said 'perennial youth' meaning everlasting youth

unlimited lifespan

Yeah, and *********** said Eternal Life. If it ain't Viz, it ain't no trump.

Eternal life is synonyms with immortality, which means living forever, never dying or decaying. You can talk about what you want it to mean, but eternal life is eternal life, which means immortality. Yes, I do think One Piece would introduce something like immortality. What, is there some rule that says it can't? We have people creating fire, creating darkness, turning into Bhuddas and creating godly auras, but noooo, immortality is just absurd!

Yes it is absurd

Eternal life is Life beyond the constraints of Time.
Immortality on the other hand means exempt from death
It's just not the same
I know I am right and u are wrong.

I've heard a lot of weak arguments here, but this one is the biggest joke of them all.

Eternal life is another word for immortal, as defined by the English language.

The only case I can recall of something being called eternal and still mortal was Shenron from DBZ, and that's an entirely different series that just used the word wrong. I have actual definitions as determined by the English language backing me up, and the only think you have to back you up is "I don't think" and "I know I'm right." Please.

If you think it's absurd, take it up with Oda, he made the rule, not me.

I have the same thought for the time being, OP :)

Also...

I don't know why *********** choose to translate it as Eternal Life, since it's a bit general to the word Ageless Surgery, while other translations call it as Eternal Youth. These contradicted meanings are probably due to the kanji character Oda put in there. If only someone had the chapter in raw, we can see on what way that kanji was written and get it confirm.

I don't believe One Piece has immortality aspect, though this reminds me of Detective Conan series, where there's a theory about the Black Organisation is actually thriving for immortal human experiment, and Vermouth's appearance is the best example, since she stays so young even though her age is supposed to be more than 40 or 50 years old. She's ageless, or rather, remain in her prime of youthfulness but still can be killed like a normal person. I guess i can relate that to the current chapter of One Piece.

It could be that whatever toxic agent was causing the disease was removed by Law himself or Corazon. Corazon could have simply given Law the Ope Ope no Mi so he could use the Ope Ope no Mi to remove the toxic agents, like he did with the kids on Punk Hazard, but on himself. Doflamingo got mad at the betrayal and killed Cora.

The point of introducing the disease was the show why Law went to Doflamingo in the first place. Law did mention that Cora saved his life, this could be how.

Well, it might have been used on Sugar.

In any case this ability is stupid as you can just transplant your personality into a baby, and grow up, and do it again over and over to expand your lifespan.

But it is nice because you get to keep all of your physical abilities intact. You wouldn't have to retrain and retrain after each personality transplant.

That's not true. If u transplant your ability into a baby u will lose your df powers also. The df powers are bound to the body not the mind as seen with Tashigi when she was in Smokers body.

It depends on the fruit, if it is bound to the body or soul. Take Brooke for example. When he died, he wandered the abyss for years, in search of his body. So that fruit cannot be bound to the body.

So, law could do a personality transplant on bonney and someone from his crew. From there, he could either slice off some part of the body, and attach it to himself and try to control it that way, or just have his crewmate reduce his age.

Also, the fruit may be able to grant the ability to steal df powers from others (to a certain degree of potency). Like, he could surgically attach limbs that were lopped off, like Kidds, Shanks, or Jozu, and implant the arm cells into his own body.
