Age difference between Itachi and Nagato

There's no way nagato's 47-50 though... neither is konan that's for sure.

Actually, if he's an uzumaki, then he may have just a tiny bit of that thingy tsunade has for looking young, at the time of the pain arc, tsunade lost her chakra control after going into a coma, so she looks way older. That means that nagato may have had this thingy, so when he depleted his chakra after using gedo art rinne rebirth, just before he died, his hair turned pure white, his body turned into a mummy more than he looked before. So yeah, there's a dang chance he can be that old.

As for konan, she may have used her paper, or nagato may have given her this chakra or whatever through that piercing konan has on her lower lip if it's made out of the same material as the chakra receivers on the 6pop to make her look young.

As for yahiko, he's dead. And dead bodies can't age, although it may appear that way becaus of the rotting, decomposing process dead matter go through.

J-man trained nagato first then minato (nagato is a few years older)

Minato trained kakashi

Kakashi trained sasuke begining of part 1

So nagato and itachi's age gap is at least 20 yrs apart!!

Remember in the narutoverse...the sensei is always only at least 10-15 years older than their student! So it don't be surprise to find out if j-man is 55 and and nagato is at least 40 yr old!

I'm very confused here... Nagato started being trained by jiraiya around age 13 during the close of the 2nd Great Ninja War. Jiraiya spent 3 years training the ame orphans which leaves him at about 16 at the close of his training. Jiraiya then traveled the world searching for the child of prophesy... if this took around 2/3 years to complete this makes nagato around 18/19 years old.

Now let's assume Jiraiya immediately started training Minato back at the hidden leaf. That makes Minato 13 years old, and 6 years younger than Nagato.

When tobi attacked the hidden leaf with the nine tailed fox Minato was around 25/30 years old, and itachi was 5 years old. At this point in time that would make Nagato around 31 years old, correct? Now i was under the assumption that Itachi and nagato were only a few years apart. But according to this information, by the time itachi was 21 that would make Nagato 47......!

I KNOW this is not true, but i can't figure out where the math, or the information is incorrect and i can't waste my time trying to re figure it out. Can anyone help me out here...?

He didn't know anything about being a ninja let alone handling elements till he met Jiraiya. So no, Nagato was not that old. Your calculation is way off.

Even Minato was not probably that old when he died.

j-man started teaching nagato when he was a jounin, when he was in his late 20s and maybe early 30s.

itachi is 21, he was like 4-7 when he witness deaths in the 3rd great ninja war

yes, i think that's more or less the deal. Itachi is almost half the age of Nagato. i remember a similar discussion about Konan's age and that she doesn't look the part. since an according to Jiraiya Nagato wasn't 13, but 10 and assuming he finished his training with Jiraiya when he was 13-15 it still doesn't change the age/time frame all that much. Nagato was most likely between 35 to 40(-42) during the time the story takes place as Itachi was 17-18 during the first part and 21 in the second.

The databook says Minato was 10 when became genin. And I think Nagato was 9/10 when Jiraiya started training him. So, when Jiraiya left (and became Minato's sensei), Nagato was 12/13, so Minato was around 2/3 years younger than Nagato.
If Minato was 25-30 during Kyuubi's Attack, Nagato would be 27/28-32/33 by there, and if Itachi was 5 years old, so Nagato is 22/23-27/28 older than Itachi.
I think I'm wrong but...who cares?

Without going into too much detail, I once saw someone post here with a whole bunch of math and references to back them up that deduced that Nagato and Konan are either 30 or 40, give or take a few months or so. It was really legit math, and made a lot of sense.

Also, Itachi has always simply looked 4 or 5 years older than he actually was. He was 13 during the massacre, 18 during part 1 and 21 during Part 2 of the manga.
