This is the third part of my long-term prediction. For those who did not read the previous ones, here they are:
Part Three: The Power To Change The World
Naruto and Sasuke have returned to Konoha. Sasuke has been working to regain the trust of the villagers, and to reestablish his ties with his friends.
Sakura has forgiven Sasuke. Her feelings for him did not change.
Since he became Hokage, Naruto has been seeing little of his friends. Yet, the situation has changed for the worse since the news about a loss of a team of Shinobi scouts sent to discover the whereabouts of Tobi. It seemed that Naruto has left the village, leaving his main advisor – Shikamaru – to attend to the daily decisions of the Hokage. Hinata, who has been so far content to admire Naruto from a distance, has become disquieted. Out of concern, she asked Sasuke to find Naruto. Sasuke agreed, feeling guilty that his friend may be avoiding him because of Sakura’s infatuation.
After a few days of search, Sasuke discovers a guard of the ANBU residing in a mountain area near Konoha. The ANBU seem to be surprised by his arrival and order him to leave the area which has been put under a quarantine by order of the Hokage because of a mysterious disease. Sasuke does not believe their explanation and continues to investigate. In the mountains, he discovers Naruto. Sasuke’s Sharingan enables him to sense a change in Naruto’s chakra. Naruto’s chakra seems to be weakened, as if Naruto was exhausted after using a lot of it. When Sasuke looks more closely, he is shocked. Inside his friends psyche, Sasuke sees a new Bijuu; it is a miniature Juubi, about the size of a cat. The Juubi notices Sasuke and runs to Kurama, who shields him with his paws.
Sasuke demands an explanation from Naruto.
“What have you done? This is too dangerous! The Juubi is a monster who can destroy the whole world!”
“Sasuke, I had not choice. Tobi has one, too.”
“What?! How can this be?!”
“Remember that he has taken a bit of the chakra of each Bijuu? He used these bits and combined them to create a miniature Juubi. When he was discovered by our scouts, he used the new power to eliminate them. One of the scouts was discovered alive and passed the information to use before he died. Tobi escaped.
Sasuke, I am the only one who can counter Tobi’s new power. I had no choice. I integrated the bits of the chakra that I have received from all the Bijuu’s to create my own Juubi.”
“But why is it so small?”
“Like Tobi, I did not have enough chakra of all Bijuu’s. The Juubi’s chakra is created in a fixed proportion from the chakra of all Bijuu’s. If one has too little chakra, the created Juubi will be small. But it is growing quickly. And it is not at all dangerous. Rather, it seems to like to play with me a lot.”
“What do you mean?!”
“The Juubi feeds on my chakra and grows. In time, it will become much stronger. It must be the same for Tobi, which is why he cannot attack now. We have some time.”
“You must send all units after him! He must be destroyed! I will go to search for him immediately!”
“Sasuke, you do not understand the Juubi’s power. Please, look into my eyes.”
Reluctantly, Sasuke complies. Immediately, he finds himself faced with a vision of Naruto, who’s eyes have changed into a pattern like the Sage of the Six Paths. Sasuke attempts to use the Sharingan, only to be confronted with a mirror that reflects his own eyes. Sasuke is paralyzed. Inside his psyche, Naruto lifts Sasuke off the ground; at the same time, Sasuke’s real body is lifted, too.
“This is not a genjutsu, Sasuke. I can affect physical objects through pure will. You cannot do anything against the Juubi, nor can any other Shinobi. I will not let my friends die senselessly. I must confront Tobi myself.”
Dispirited, Sasuke takes leave of his friend. On leaving, he tells Naruto that Hinata is anxious about him. Naruto asks Sasuke to tell Hinata, but no one else, about his location.
Upon hearing the news from Sasuke, Hinata immediately sets out to find Naruto. As she travels, she recalls how she has spent her life trying to keep up with him, and cries because of the distance that separates them now. Despite her efforts, Naruto has become lonely again. Hinata becomes determined to stop Naruto from fighting alone at all costs.
When Hinata finds Naruto, she immediately challenges him.
“Why did you do this! Why does it have to be you again!”
“Hinata, please understand. This is my fate, it was decided when I was born and my parents sacrificed their lives to save me and the village. I cannot let them down.
I needed this power to change the world, as Jiraya-sensei wished. My life is nothing compared to that goal!”
“It is the same for me. My life is meaningless without you. I will not allow you to go and fight alone for the sake of everyone!”
“It cannot be helped! If you go, you will get killed, and I could not bear that!
Of course I would have liked you to join me, but it is much too dangerous!”
Suddenly, the Juubi’s chakra begins to activate. Hinata uses the Byakugan and gazes into Naruto’s eyes. The Juubi’s chakra expands and envelops Hinata. Hinata screams as she feels the Juubi’s chakra enter her body. Naruto feels himself drawn into Hinata’s psyche, where he watches the Juubi run towards Hinata. The Juubi seems to be greeting her, and as Naruto watches, he sees an image of Hinata with the eyes of the Rikudoo Sennin.
Naruto sees himself through Hinata’s eyes. “It is like the shared vision of the Rinnegan!”, Naruto thinks. Naruto is able to sense Hintata’s feelings for himself. “She believes that I am a hero!” Naruto is stunned by the intensity of Hinata’s emotions.
Simultaneously, Hinata sees herself through Naruto’s eyes. She senses Naruto’s admiration and concern for her, and is overjoyed.
Naruto suddenly collapses. The Juubi chakra disperses, and Hinata catches Naruto as he is about to fall.
“I overused the Juubi’s chakra”, Naruto pants. “It must feed now on my chakra before it will recover.”
“What happened?” Hinata asks. “It was as if I became one with you. I could see what you saw, and could sense your feelings!”
“I don’t know. This was like the Rinnegan’s shared field of vision, but more intense. It seems that the Juubi has passed a part of its chakra to you.”
“I have felt that, too. Naruto, I am so glad! Now we can change the world together!”
Hinata and Naruto sit together, as Naruto rests. They talk about their feelings for each other and think of the future.
Meanwhile, Tobi is shown putting a chain on a Juubi that is twice the size of Naruto’s.
