Characters can make mistakes, what they say is not always fact, what Kishi says is. In the databook, except for the characters dialogues and quotes, is Kishi who's talking, the same in the stats.

Neji's intelligence stems from observation and analysis. He has good insight, but has never shown strategy.

Shino, on the other hand, has the same type of intelligence as Shikamaru. He got his opponents to play into his hands.
having Zaku try and blast both Shino and his insects, resulting in having his arms ruptured.
Vs Kankuro: the punch feint, having the insects eat the chakra string and having the bugs sneak behind to capture Kankuro.

So my vote goes to Shino.

Sakura after shikamaru

Everyone say shino but he didn't show much feats i would say he is wiser than the others because his calm attitude he doesn't rash etc

But sakura already proved to be the smartest after shika

In the written exam no one Exept sakura knew the answers (note there were 30 years old ninjas in the exam )

Even shikamaru cheated from sakura paper (yeah)

And shino neji they all cheated even sasuke couldn't understand a thing but sakura solved everything easily .

Than ibiki said it was like a trap theres no genin who can answers those questions .

-Sasuke admitted that sakura is better than him at analyzing ability

-Sakura in the pein arc helped shikamaru to discover pein jutsus (why would she help one of the smartest characters if she wasn't smart)

-She discover how obito jutsu works.

-She figured out zetsu trick and discovered how his jutsu works .

-She analyzed and read sasori movements .

-She trick sasori that she is dead in the fight .

-She trick/outsmart kiba and sai (when she put them to sleep even though they knew she was planing to throw the sleep bomb)

Neji is considered to be the Genius Shinobi so I'd say he take his place, if not smarter than Sasuke.

Shino also has good intelligents so I'd include him as well.

We have to take into consideration different kinds of intelligence. Sakura is book smart, being able to figure out complex questions that would require experience. Shino's intelligence involves cleaver planning to lure and trap opponents. Shino wouldn't be able to do what Sakura could and vice versa.

Shino's show of intelligence was shown in his fight vs Zaku and Kankuro.
- Worked out Zaku's jutsu and a counter before the match started (without ever seeing it)
- Assumed that Zaku's arms may not be useless and had them dealt with (where everyone else was like "WTF?"
- Lured Zaku into using his arms, effectively putting an end to Zaku's ninja career.
- Figured out Kankuro's weakness to close-range not even a minute into their fight.
- Tricked Kankuro several times into thinking he got Shino: Insect Clones (twice), Kankuro breaking the chakra strings and Karasu mouth dagger.
- Used a Insect Clone as a distraction to punch feint Kankuro to plant a female bug, which ended up being Kankuro's downfall.

Someone said Shino's intelligence is underrated. I agree. The difference between Sakura and Shikamaru to Shino is that they get recognition for their intelligence, but Shino doesn't. Sakura was told she was smart, Shikamaru had Asuma test it. Shino has had no one. Vs Zaku everyone was too creeped/surprised to acknowledge it and vs Kankuro no one was there to witness the fight.

Neji, shino, naruto,................, kiba, Hinata. Though if kiba concentrates he may be higher up the rank, he's battle with the ("joined brothers"), I should not rank naruto since plot makes him battle smart.

It depends on how you categorize intelligence.

Book intelligence? Shikamaru and Sakura.

Battle tactics? Naruto, Shikamaru, Sasuke, and Shino.

Battle adaptability? Naruto and Sasuke.

Raw intelligence? I'd give it to Shino. His battle style inherently gives him the ability to view things from a far and formulate a plan.

Lmfao at naruto.

Even in battle intelligence apart from planning/strategy that shikamaru beats everyone of them at naruto is second, with shino third. For insight its s tie between neji and shino.

If you mean overall intelligence, i have shika and Sakura tied.
Reason they are tied is because shika excels at planning/strategy and has most likely a higher iq than sakura. While sakura is what i call a memory tank. Most likely the most knowledgeable out of them all.

Anyway after Shika, Sakura takes it comfortable actualy.
She was said a talent for genjutsu. But is also a medic.
Yes her extreme chakra control is one of the reasons for these statements, however its also because of her intelligence.

Hyped to have very good potential in 2 fields where high intelligence is needed.
