[Spoilers] After 2 years, Luffy uses Gear 2nd in anime...

Okay, don't get me wrong, I thought that episode was epic but before the episode, was I the only one who thought Luffy used partial gear 2nd? Like he would only make a particular limb go into the mode. I mean, even One piece wiki had said that and then the episode comes and his whole body still turns -__-. Then theres been a couple mangas where Luffy looks like he is only using partail Gear 2nd such as one of the latest manga that showed Luffy using Red Hawk (Hook). Only his arm seemed to give off steam. Because of this, I don't like the anime version that much since its basically him going gear 2nd but at a faster rate.

Also, for the future when Luffy uses Armament (spelling) haki, will his skin turn metalic? I know it seems black in the manga but what would it look like in the anime?

Hmm, I think they just got it wrong that time. I mean they had to justify how did he reach the pacifista so fast. Also, maybe he wnet full for a second, reached the pacifista and then partial and KA-POW punch!

Hmm, I think they just got it wrong that time. I mean they had to justify how did he reach the pacifista so fast. Also, maybe he wnet full for a second, reached the pacifista and then partial and KA-POW punch!

Animators already admitted the mistake. I think it will be done corectly next time, maybe they even redo it for the DVD release, that is not uncommon when they screw something up, or when they rushed some scenes which lead to bad animation.

The haki infused punch will most likely be very dark blue. It already apeared on the cover of a game. Games are not an entirely trustworth source though. I still hope it will be black. The color is made by vulcanizing rubber.

I read somewhere that his skin color turns blue-ish when he uses that type of Haki. I'm not sure where I read/watch (I don't remember >.<) it though...the new one piece game review maybe?

I feel like the anime producers screwed up...

The episode was SO epic, but if they had done it correctly, it'd be so much more epic..

"Caribou first revealed his Devil Fruit powers against a Marine soldier, not against Drip (Fake Sanji) as he did in the manga.
In the manga, PX-7 was using his palm lasers against Zoro and Sanji before getting destroyed, but in this episode, he was using his mouth laser.
Fake Luffy announces that the one who kills the most Marines would be his right hand man. This was not mentioned in the manga.
In the manga, PX-5 launched one laser beam from its hand at Luffy, while in the anime, it fired three laser beams from its mouth.
In the manga, Rayleigh is seen with tears in his eyes upon Luffy shouting at the end.
In the manga, Luffy only uses Gear Second in his arm, while in the anime, it is used throughout his entire body.
The anime does not show the flames produced from Sanji's Diable Jambe when he attacks the Pacifista as it does in the manga.
In the anime, Luffy punched PX-5 with his right hand, while in the manga, he used his left one."

Announcing that the one who kills the most marines would be his first mate was a nice touch, showing his disregard over his crewmates.
