Hello, some of you only know me as a ff writer, but I love poetry and I have some poems floating out there somewhere. I am currently writing a fanfiction called Aetherian Rhapsodies, and I wanted to express a creative idea I had to utilize poetry to enhance the fanfic experience. In my fanfic there are several Gods, and Goddesses. Rather than making a list for everyone to go through, I will use the art that is poetry to describe the deities themselves, as well as give insight into their character. If you want to check out my ff, thanks. If you just like the poetry, that's fine too. This will be more free verse, but it felt like it would fit in this section. ^^

I’ve spent millennia contemplating my nonexistence
My heart is purgatory, and my soul is empty
I was all that never was
It was not until my they were born, that I realized who I was
Or rather, who I wasn’t.
I knew their creation would be the end of me
So I remain, apart from their world, watching and wondering
Until the day all returns to me
I will continue, contemplating who I am not.

What was the world like before I opened my eyes?
I could not imagine a world so bleak.
A world without hope, a world without pain
An aimless non-existence that gave birth to me
I must be thankful for it, as it must have been painful for him
I cannot explain the smile on my face
Knowing that my existence brings hope and despair.
Joy and pain, life and death, I truly cannot explain
The happiness I feel, seeing every idle breath, or tear.
For then I know you’re alive.
I know that I am with you
I know we have not regressed to the time before my birth
A time in which I did not exist
A time where I was unable to smile for your tears.

What was the world like before I opened my eyes?
I cannot imagine such a paradise
A world without pain, a world without hope
An aimless existence that does not include me
What is a life in which you are guaranteed destruction
What is a life that allows my existance.
I understand my purpose, however, I am hated
I am feared.
Who loves me? Who wishes for me?
I cannot help but cry, when I see the horrid mangled faces
As I deliver them to the grave
I cannot help but weep, when I am cursed, and rebuked.
I cannot help but allow the tears to consume me when I realize
The joy you have is taken and The hatred born of me is just.
I cannot help but be consumed with tears of joy
when I imagine a world when all was naught
A time where I did not exist
A time where I did not weep for your joy.

Some people believe I am the most powerful force
I believe I am the most dangerous weapon.
People have become corrupted because of me
And I have since grown to hate myself.
I love all things, and all things love one another
It is because of this love that one hates
It is because of this love that we destroy one another
Something that extends deeper than the surface
Something more terryifying than lust
I am much too weak to rid the world of my existence.
So I can only watch as love destroys the world.
And hope they have it in their hearts to forgive my existence.
It is a terrifying thing that I say.
I love you.

So much to do, there was so much to do, there is more to come
Fickle we are, were, will always be.
Man believes us unstoppable
We were not
I believe they will always believe this to be; however, they will never comprehend
Those outside our existence
Before we were created
We had no purpose
Now we will always be
What are we to nothing?
What were we to everything?
It is rhetorical.
It was rhetorical
Will we ever stop?
We should know.
We probably knew.
We will never understand.
That’s not our job.
Did we ever have a job outside of having existed?
A good question we should save for the future
Well …so what is the answer
I don’t think I’ll ever tell us.
What did that mean?
What does that mean?
No, what will it mean?

Oh the threads that bind even gods.
They twist, and turn, cut and churn
But these threads never learn
To one place they go, I’ve seen so many stories
Entertaining ones, tragic ones, romantic ones, oh which is this one
Will they live, will they die, it doesn’t matter because it is meant to be.
I suppose every once in awhile
Every once in a long while
Every once in a long, long, while
I can bend the rules
I could intervene
If I believe it necessary
But only under special circumstances.
Do not defy me
THAT IS MY STORY DO NOT DEFY ME
THAT IS MY STORY DO NOT TEMPT ME
YOUR ENDINGS ARE MINE TO PRESERVE!
It was impossible after all

There is an ever-changing world around me
Beautiful things that hide in nooks and crannies of the mind
Thoughts untouched, thoughts not spoken
I want to see them all.
A world created for them
Maybe they could teach, and maybe we could learn
Every mind a pocket of beautiful things,
Sleep well, but not forever.
When you wake up maybe you’re still in someone else’s thoughts.
If that is the case, then you’re alive, you’re with me.

Destructive, yet cultivating
Unpredictable.
Free.
Me.
Burning
Stay far.
Come close.
Just close enough.
Gentle warmth. To fervent blaze.
Unpredictable.
Flickr then darkness
Until I burn again.

All manner of beasts come to thee
For I have a world to offer
A world of wonder
BREATHE!
Let the waves carry you.
Allow the currents to fall in love.
If any shall ruin my paradise
Let the waves drag them to ruin
Let the currents be consumed with rage
In my world…it is I only…you are mine only.
No one shall taint.
Quietly consume the world
Drag them under, bring paradise.
