Bunta did nothing, NOTHING that saved her. Katsuyu can split at any time she wants to and no physical attack in the manga was strong enough to even damage, let alone kill even the smallest parts of her body. One tiny slug on Naruto' shoulder survived Chibaku Tensei and even the Kyuubi's corrosive chakra.

And what's with Manda eating her anyway, that slug as as huge as him, it would take a considerable time to finish eating her ( if she'd be stupid enough to let it ofc ). In the meantime Jiraiya/Bunta could have finished him easily.

Her acid would also destroy Manda from the inside so this matchup is not even remotely debatable.
