Gon basically made a nen contract/restriction, basically what kirupika did to beat the PT but one much worse one. He pretty much gave up his nen powers to become adult gon or have enough power to destroy pitou.

Edit: I'm pretty sure the manga had a panel or two explaining it.

Oh, so it was that, but another question
How is Kurapika going to fight anyone besides PT, if his power only works on them?

I don't think it is as typical as a simple shounen powerup. IMO it's got to do with Nen and it's rules/abilities. Togashi has barely scratched the surface of the complexity and capacity of Nen. There's still a lot we don't know about it. Look how complex Alluka's or even Ging's nen ability is.

I think Kurapika's nen master mentions that someone can go beyond their 100% but the factors to cause this aren't known. In Gon's case, his intense rage and variety of emotions took his Nen to new heights that his current body couldn't cope with. Not to mention Gon is an enhancer, so he enhanced his body's growth rate abnormally. Not mentally though, as you see when he talked to Killua. It's also like a law of equivalent exchange...someone can do it but they have to give up something substantial. As Volk also mentioned, it's basically like a contract. However he couldn't really limit or control the contract because of his emotions.

SO WHY IS HE GOING TO THE DARK CONTINENT AT ALL
i
Leorio's mental support ;) Anyway, he's been pretty damn useful so far, helping locate spies and what not. I actually think that the troupe or at least the leader will play a role in this arc.

I'm more curious as to whether Killua or Gon will come in this arc at all and if they are how? I think a timeskip is necessary to increase their power. I'm pretty sure Gon will get back his nen..if not he can always go see the guy who gave back the troupe leader's nen.

If they don't, it will be the first manga arc I've ever seen without the protagonist(s)

I really hope they both do come in this arc though. Maybe something goes wrong in the dark continent either with Ging or Kurapika/Leorio and Gon goes to the continent after training. I don't see how Killua goes with Alluka. He had a major part in the chairman arc so Togashi might leave him out. He is my favourite character though :)

Chain jail & judgement chain is for the spiders and the other remaining chain can be used on anyone. So basically 2/3rds of his chains are used only for spiders and the other remaining one is for anyone else.

As for the whole Gon stuff, yeah it was already explained above.

I'll still consider it an asspull until Togashi break it down for us, it could have been anything maybe it have something to do with Gon lineage, i mean in YYH ( Togashi previews works ) the protagonist also turn into something like that and insanely powerful, in the end it turn out because of his Demonkind Blood.

Do you mean to say that Don will be the villian? I assume that, that is the path that Togashi is deciding to go with. I'm pretty sure Ging is going to look for his relative that is still making a map or guide of the dark continent so if Don was able to survive for hundreds of years then I suspect that he will be op.
