Shukaku gave Gaara the power to control sand. Part 1 Gaara in his Shukaku form actually uses sand coffin on Naruto and his body is made out of sand. Shukaku talked to Gaara and would tell him to kill and Gaara would think it was his mother he was talking too; this is in part 1. If Gaara dies then so does Shukaku, the auto defense is just a sand ability. She loves Gaara and Gaara loved his mom; he use to think he was killing for her in part 1; simply loving Gaara isn't going to give her control over Shukaku's ability. Also that's the first time Gaara made his mom figure from the sand, they were just talking about Gaara's past and it shows Gaara controlling the sand so Gaara made his mother's figure

Shukaku, the Bijuu who is actually made of sand, gave Gaara that ability. Also I'm sure it's earth+wind to make sand. A free Shukaku was using sand jutsu so we know it came from Shukaku, Gaara only retained the ability to use it. Gaara is shown controlling the sand himself via moving his arm to direct the sand. He can make the sand move with his mind but has better control using his arm to direct it. Sand coffin shows Gaara crushing his hand to make the sand crush his opponent.

Except that Shukaku isn't sealed in Gaara anymore and Gaara's mom is dead. Gaara retained Shukaku's abilities and uses them himself as I already described above.

That was Gaara losing control to Shukaku, Gaara's dad already said that and it shows Shukaku taking over to attack the village. Gaara can beat Orochimaru, sand coffin crushes his whole body, Orochimaru can't shed his skin if his brain is crushed. He can also bury him 200 ft in the ground where he can't even move an inch; he'll die by being unable to breathe. Gaara is the 4th strongest after Naruto, Sasuke, and Bee right now. Gaara at age 19 was fighting Kage level ninjas back to back and was blocking 5 of Madara's Susanoo blades while saving Mei; he's going to be much stronger in the 12 years.

No she wouldn't.... Gaara would use sand coffin to crush her whole body including her brain. Gaara sand tanked Deidara's C3 which is a village Buster; Sakura's punch with the Yin seal is a bit smaller than that so Gaara is taking on Sakura's strength. Plus he can bury her 200ft in the ground and make it so she can't move an inch which she needs to do to use her CES.

Killer Bee is 3rd strongest with Gaara being the 4th. Kakashi can't beat Gaara lol Gaara would simply turn the battle field to sand and use sand tsunami to crush Kakashi's whole body. Gai isn't beating him, Gai's skills stopped at war arc while Gaara had 12 years to grow stronger; 8th hate Gai level is a level below VoTE Madara/Hashirama or on the level; I can see Naruto, Sasuke, Bee, and Gaara on that level. Gaara can beat Deidara, he had to attack the village to make Gaara drop his guard. Kiss me would be a hard fight but I can see him winning depending how well he improved or if he use gold dust. For Itachi, Gaara using the 3rd eye while being protected in his sand barrier high up in the sky would protect him from genjutsu, his sand can stop Amaterasu, and he can pull Itachi out of Susanoo or use sand coffin from within Susanoo. Kakuza would lose as well.
