If the admiral guy from the movie "Z" was cannon, could it be mihawk who had his arm, and his recruitment into the schchibukai the reason he defected from the marines?

No...even 'if' the story of Z is canon it wouldn't be Mihawk as Garp explained that the pirate who took Z's arm and crew had become a warlord during the 2 year hiatus.

In the movie it was said that the Shichibukai who took his arm became Shichibukai during the timeskip, so it can't be him. People say it's the current unknown Seventh Shichibukai, but I don't see how that's canon enough to make it him.

that's something i didn't really understand !! I remember in movie Z , Garp said that Admiral Z left the marines because the person who cut his arm became shichibukai !! if that happened during timeskip , where was Admiral Z in marineford war ?!?

that's why i think one of the known shichibukai was the person who cut his arm !

Not all marines were called to fight at marineford. Some had to be on patrol on the outside too you know! Pirates could use the opportunity to run wild and pillage villagers.

Plus, he probably retired by timeskip like wasnt he said to have help train the now admirals and vice admirals?

Well, the idea was from a friend, and I thought "wellla, how true could this be?" Hence the creation of this thread
